Kitty had a new sleeping place a couple of weeks ago. Do your cats move their sleeping places around?

Kitty found a new sleeping place, and stuck with it for several weeks. It was between my subwoofer and a Cambridge SoundWorks speaker I have had for several years. I think she likes music, and was trying to find the musicians behind my stereo. But maybe she was ticked off at me and just wanted to have a Kitty girl cave. If you have cats, to they relocate their favorite spots often? Or do they have the same spots for years? I am not a cat person and am trying to learn.

my cats have a few places where they like to sleep and they're always sleeping in these places. sometimes they pick one and sleep there for some time and then change. maybe she's trying to find warmer place?

Right now it's 73 degrees inside my house and she's sleeping outside (in the sun) where it's about 55 F. She is a furry thing.

@TheHorse my cat sometimes lays next to me and i pet her, but then she goes and lays on the floor. i always joke that she "overheated" and needs to cool down maybe that's the situation with Kitty too

@wolfgirl569 Heh. Kitty is still enjoying the sun and the cool (but not cold) air right now.

So I am not the only human ever to have said "Oh, so I see you have found a new favorite sleeping spot"?

My granny's cat used to do this. She moved from one place to another at her home.

Heh. Kitty has a few places that she returns to. I guess she buys and sells "vacation spots."

That looks like a nice safe place for her. Survival instincts die hard I guess.

It's a true kitty cave. But how can she guard her domain from there?

Our dogs slept in different spots except for our Pomeranians. They slept in the same spot every night -- the recliner and the dog bed. Have a good weekend.

They usually have a favorite spot but do change them from time to time.

My two cats like the closet in my office and the couch. Sometimes they share with each other and sometimes not.

She looks content. By chance, is there a heating vent in that area? Cats usually choose spots that are warmer than the rest of the room to snooze in. That's the reason you can often find a cat behind or around a computer. They like the heat it gives off. (Window sills in direct sunlight are often favorite spots to sleep, too.)

Oh, yes mine move around, Freddie was enjoying sleeping on a shelf on the cat tree and now sleeps on the top of the couch, Tish sleeps in the sun by the window and then disappears somewhere under my bed,

Yeah every other month or so one of them will find a new place to nap - I'm sure it is simply to annoy me. It ain't so bad in winter - that 'lectric blanket lures them to the bed for naps.
