Another update on the radiator situation.

The guy came yesterday to look at the radiators again. The radiators were luke warm again. He got the front off the boiler and checked it, but it seemed to be running OK. He checked the pump in the airing cupboard, and that was working OK.
When he'd checked everything, he said that the cause of the fluctuations of temperature of the radiators is most likely because of a blockage, or blockages, in the pipes. Our radiators are old. They haven't been changed since we moved in, in 1996. So it's most likely there's been erosion and deposits inside.
So, next week, on Wednesday, we're going to have our radiators flushed out! They have to put chemicals in each radiator, one by one, to get rid of any blockage. They say it's a whole days job and it's costing £820 so my Mum says she'll contribute half, £410.
They are going to need to get to both ends of each radiator! This is going to be complicated, because we have things blocking the way, or directly infront of, each radiator, and I'm not sure where I'm going to put some of the stuff! My bed is right up against my radiator, so that's going to have to be moved across, and I've got things underneath my bed too. I am not looking forward to it! I'd like to be out of the house when it's all happening.
Is anything exciting happening in your world? (Not that I think having our radiators flushed out is exciting!
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.

Even I got one unseen expenditure today. Our kitchen hob exhaust stopped working making some weird sound. Seems like the motor is burnt due to power fluctuations and it needs to be replaced. The technician came today, opened everything and checked. He should come back with a new motor by Saturday ( most probably tomorrow if he gets one). That would cost me 5000 Indian Rs.

@sharonelton I am hoping the same. Cooking without an exhaust is not fun. The smell and smoke can come till living room. The technician called today morning and it can't be done today. He promised that he will do it tomorrow for sure. Keeping fingers crossed.

820 GBP is a big amount.
And at The current exchange rate of between 100 and 110 Rupees for 1 GBP, it would be even much bigger in our currency.
Any changes or transformation inside our homes can be so time consuming and disturbing.
Anyways there are a lot of things you need to tackle.
Have a nice time ahead!

It is a lot, yes. The guy who came to check our radiators said It's a fixed price and he couldn't do anything about it.
Yes, it is going to cause a bit of turmoil, and I don't know where I'm going to put the stuff that needs moving so they can get to the radiators!
Yes, there are. I'm going to try and clear my bed off tomorrow ready and put the Christmas jumpers back in the wardrobe!
Thank you very much. You too.

Wow! That’s a lot of money to fork out right after Christmas. I hope it sorts out your heating problems.
It’s a good idea to have the central heating serviced regularly. If the system had a corrosion inhibitor added then there shouldn’t be any sludge. If radiators have sludge in they are usually cold at the bottom and hot at the top. This is the opposite to having air in, where it is cold at the top.
Not the time of year to be without heating. Stay warm!

Well it's been a long time coming as they haven't been touched since 1996 when we moved in, or maybe even before!
Thank you for that information, I didn't know that.
No, it's not, you're right. But my bedroom is usually cold anyway! I'll try!

When I "declutter" I always just end up moving everything from one place to another! There's nothing I want to get rid of!
No, it's not going to be much fun, and I'm dreading it!
Thank you very much, that's very kind of you.
I hope you are well.
Have a great night.
