MyLot has changed a lot over the years. So have I. I have been a member for eighteen years. Not all of them were active, though.
When I first joined I was not very internet savvy at all. I was looking for a way to earn money from home.I had never been in chat rooms, on bulletin boards or on myspace or Facebook. MyLot has never been a monetarily big pay place for me, but it has gifted me lots of good friends. Some have moved away. Some have passed away. Some are still here.
When I first joined, I just lurked around a lot, reading, but not responding. I moved up to responding, and still waited a while before posting my first discussion. It did not hurt to wait and to become more comfortable.
A few times people have been rude, but mostly people are nice. I wish the world got on as well as most of us here seem to.

I brought a bunch of people with me when I came to myLot over 9 years ago. Some were friends from WebAnswers and some were friends from Bubblews. Some of those friends didn't stay and some passed away. Some are still here, though.
I jumped in with both feet and started having fun. I still have a lot of fun teasing people here... 
I agree, most of the people here are nice and a lot of them I consider friends.

For me it always seemed I would find a place online I could call home but the sties always closed up eventually, So I am glad I found mylot and it can feel like home and I can chat with all my friends here,

Yes, sometimes people are rude. Other times people misunderstand a comment and think it's rude when it wasn't meant to be and take offence.

My first experience was deliberately rude on their parts. I had gotten tired of people bashing all the (name a country) and just spoke up and said that they should not generalize. I got told I was stupid and did not know what I was talking about. Yes, there are certain countries that have a reputation for "scammers" and other that have a reputation for rudeness.

@BarBaraPrz We also used to have "star ratings" to show the quality or perceived quality of our contributions. One of my friends at that time was really astonished that some people voted me down. It made me feel good that he cared.

I love Mylot and am glad it's still here. I joined for the same reason. To make some pocket change. Pocket change I'm thankful for. Well, I'm glad some of the regulars are still here.

@GardenGerty Thanks. I didn't lose any income at Bubblews and enjoyed my time there. I was pleased when I was pointed towards myLot. I've had a lot of interesting times here.

It is a great and fun place to share our ideas, air our thoughts and concerns and even argue and disagree sometimes, just like in the real world. Just like in real life. AND get paid a little something as well. I am hopeful that the site continues to thrive, although it could use a bit of an activity boost, and is around for a long time to come.

My profile says 19 years as well. I believe JJ is currently the most long term member, but Shay had a few days on him. I miss seeing her around.

I remember feeling new and acting like a wall flower until another member reached out to me and somehow I felt comfortable enough to become a little active.
And I had, and I still do, that member (JJ) to ask questions to thru pm's.
Between you and he I felt like I belonged, and then there were others that I met up with from the B site and met new friends here.
A little kindness on this site goes a very long ways.
I have always tried to practise that.

Originally the owners made a big deal about being kind to every one and not correcting grammar and such. A few people still did act prejudiced about things but over all they are cooperative and kind.

I had heard of this site back in the days when Bubblews was still around, but never gravitated over here until Bubblews went under. I have enjoyed being here ever since, and not because of the monetary value. The people here are--for the most part--wonderful people.

There are an awful lot of great people here. I wish it paid more, but that would not be sustainable. I have been in and out of a lot of sites over the last nineteen years.

I need to look to see how long I've been here. I came when Bubblews went down. That's when I heard about myLot.
Yes, many people have left or passed away since I've been here, too. No, money isn't the focus, friends are. Thanks for being one of them.

@jefferson126 For some people the money they make here represents a lot. I make more here than some places, but not too much, really. I used to say I liked to let my myLot money sit in my PayPal account and hold hands with other earnings. All together it adds up to some extra fun.

I’ve been here 18 years now too, but the person who referred me here is long gone. There was that two year period they quit paying and became something totally different, but other than a three month period a few years ago, I’ve been on here pretty constantly.
And with the exception of one now banned deviant, no one has tried to harass me or bother me at all really. I think I’ve been extremely blessed by the people on this site.

MyLot is a welcoming place.
I have been on a few other sites over the past 14 years, and most of them flattered to deceive. The payout was good but they could not sustain.
People play fair - treating others as you would like to be treated is the motto.

Heather , then you are earliest users I have known since I joined mylot 8 months ago. I do agree mylot has been going lot of user related changes. I am only aware of program changes via discussions. Since I joined , there were few who returned , 1 person demised and new users joined. And then there are few who are very active from whenever they joined. In fact , people like you are the reason mylot universe is still there. There are still discussions and responses and more importantly there are things happening. That is important for something like mylot to progress. It has been nice interacting with you. Have a great weekend!
