News I haven't share - for a reason

I took a fall back on the 3rd. I fell forward, which saves my back a bit, and I didn't break my nose, again. I scrapped my left knuckles and put a bruise on my chin. Apparently I did further crack my filling and had to have a replacement filling put in.
The chin is the more obvious thing, but as my wrist started swelling, I discovered I have a mild sprained wrist. I already don't care for the worst of it, the brace, but I know if I don't wear it, it will take that much longer to heal.
But having to adjust to not having full use of my hand is a pain, and not the sprain.
I hope your new year is starting off better than mine.

@ElicBxn Well, the road to recovery is a slow road indeed.

@kaylachan Yeah, but this is a pretty mild sprain, so I think I'll be good sooner than I might normally be.

@DaddyEvil Yes you are. My wife fell and knocked the tip off her femur. She was in the hospital for a few days then in rehab for over a month. The attachments that had been there had to learn new ways of helping her walk.

@ElicBxn I'm glad you don't just get dizzy. That's my problem. I fall a couple of times a week. Luckily, it's mostly on carpet in our house. I DID fall on our front porch two years ago and got a bone bruise on my right hip. I hobbled around for several months. The ER doctor said I was lucky I didn't break my hip.

I have had a stumble and fall after Christmas, but no major damage. Yeah, those wrist braces or splints can be the pits. Did you get snow? I know parts of Texas did.

Yeah, my sister did that in the spring of 1975. The last weekend of my spring break she was at a Girl Scout thing and fell and broke and dislocated her wrist. That was in mid-late March, she finally got the last cast off in July. She still had to wear a brace for doing anything too much, but this fish was finally able to swim again!

That doesn't sound fun a all. I fell in the stairs here twice, and although it was painful and I it hurt both times, a least I didn't need medical intervention.

In 70+ years I only fell down stairs once and I had my hand on the rail so I caught myself. Okay, maybe I fell down when I was a tot before we moved to Texas, but I don't remember that. I have, however, fallen going up stairs and crushed cartilage and had to get my knee wrapped. I fell up a few other times, but didn't get hurt. Connie used to say I was like the 'Princess and the Pea' because it didn't take much to hurt me and because I couldn't sleep on wrinkled sheets. Well, that latter one isn't true anymore, but I still get hurt pretty easily.
