1/11/25 - Update On My Husband

We will be going to see my husband tomorrow. My husband wanted cake; so we will bring him 2 pieces of white cake, his favorite. I will ask him again why he doesn't call or return my calls.
I tried calling the facility again yesterday...there was no answer. Monday I will be calling the Ombudsman

Are you still paying for this out of pocket? I would be flipping out and blowing up their phone every 5 minutes until I got answers. He needs to be assessed by a doctor who has experience with dementia. Your husband might need a different type of facility at this point or in the near future.

He may not be able to tell you why he does not call or answer. I hope you find out why you cannot get ahold of anyone else when you call.

You can ask, but he might not give you an honest answer. You know what he wants more then anything.

My hip is hurting (it does in bad cold like this, nothing out of the ordinary), or I’d come up there and kick their butts for you.

I pray you'll find him doing better. I wonder why the trouble with phone calls. Hopefully he'll enjoy the cake....take care of yourself.

I hope you get some support from the ombudsman. Right now hubby doesn't seem to have the wherewithal or mental faculties to remember to call you. Could you enlist the roommate to remind him?

I hope your visit goes well and I'm sure your hubby will enjoy the cake (that's my favorite too). I wonder if your hubby has just lost track of time and the days and that's why he forgets to call. It still drives me crazy that no one ever answers the phone there. Your frustration must be through the roof.
