Karen, how do you cook your dumplings? We call it pastry, but made with flat strips of pastry.

I love all the comfort foods of winter. I have white beans or navy beans on right now cooking with a big ham shuck in there. They should be done soon!

Yes! Chicken and dumplings has always been a favorite of mine. My granny used to always ask what I wanted her to cook when I came to visit. I always chose chicken and dumplings!

You could always freeze in individual servings and have a meal already prepared when you don't feel like cooking.

Any hot food items should do for me in winter. I do not have any preferences. Hot soups especially corn soups are great to have in winter. I may not want any food items which could be cold such as ice cream or cold beverages. They may bring in throat or cold infections. It is better to avoid those in cold or winter conditions. While I was in Middle East , hot Kuboos was a great food item to have ,even without any curry or dry items to consume. Used to have them more during my time in Middle East. Good to know your and family's interests . Enjoy the weekend!

Yes, I think we have too many comfort foods in winter. Ever notice how they all have a lot of starches also, except for soup and chilli? Mashed potatoes, Mac & Cheese, dumplings, etc.

Winter in our house is chock full of soups, stews and casseroles, and we make our share of them during the harsh, cold winter months.
