Anyone thinking Valentine’s Day yet?

My guess is hardly anyone is thinking Valentine’s Day, but maybe I’m wrong. Last year, I mentioned Galentine’s Day, and I I’m pretty sure many of you thought that was weird. It’s not an idea original to me as you can find Galentine’s Day cards, and have been able to for a long time. My female friends, whether we’re in a romantic relationship or not with someone, usually get together around February 14th (never the 14th itself due to how busy places are) to check in with each other and celebrate our friendship.
Of course, I always send a little Valentine’s Day present to my nieces and nephew, which they enjoy.
Married couples and non married couples, do you have plans?

@ambiepam I just resent big business sticking its unwelcome nose into my love life and telling my wife if I don’t give her chocolates, flowers etc then I don’t love her. Ok so I’m cynical and atrabilious, but there’s nothing anyone can do about it. But of course we’ll be doing something. I’m atrabilious but I’m not stupid.

I haven't really given it much thought other than what I would like to give to Willow and Harper.
I am looking for some heart shaped boxes of Smarties for each of them.
My hubs and I will probably order in that night, we try not to eat out during this time of the year, with the flu and walking pneumonia making so many people so ill, we would rather order in.

My sister in law is going to a galentines event.
I am doing a geocaching meet up the day before Valentine’s Day and my little one and I are giving out valentines.
My oldest daughter asked me a week ago or more if we are exchanging for Valentine’s Day. I bought everyone can’t bars today that looked yummy while I was out. That’s the first Valentine’s Day things I’ve bought so far.

I was just talking to my daughter this morning about Valentine's Day. But not in the context you may think We were taking our Christmas decorations down from out in the yard, and she asked me why I was leaving a bunch of extension cords plugged in out there. I told her that I was going to put up a few decorations and lights for winter, and she said it wasn't worth it for just a few more weeks (winter in Florida ends very early lol). I told her that once I took down the winter decorations, I would then put up all the pink Valentines lights and decorations. She thought I was joking, but I ordered a bunch of pink lights last year that I will put up out in the yard at the beginning of February!

@AmbiePam She really thought I was joking about having a bunch of pink Valentines lights to put up in the yard!
I think this year I'm going to decorate my hedges and plants with holiday lights more. Pink lights for Valentines, green lights for St. Patricks Day, Red/white/blue for July 4th, etc.

@moffittjc I absolutely love that idea. If I had a house, I have a feeling I’d do that too. It’s fun, and most everyone gets a kick out of seeing it.

Walgreen's had their Easter stuff all out on January 2nd. It's rather ridiculous. I like holidays, but not months in advance.

A friend told me yesterday that Walmart has out all the Easter egg stuff and chocolate bunnies, etc. as well. It's January. Good grief.

I do have plans for Valentine's Day. They're not specifically Valentine plans, it's just something that happens to be on Valentine's Day. My husband and I don't usually do anything. We might get each other a card or a small silly gift. This year, we are going to see a comedian at our town's theatre. The comedian is Jasper Carrot. He is well-known here but I don't know if he's known in other parts of the world. I have seen him on TV before but this will be the first time in real life. Anyway, that's what my husband and I are doing for Valentine's Day. We're taking my eldest son as well, and I think my two sisters are also going but they arranged it separately.

I've thought about it. I give cards with notes about how much I appreciate them to my friends when I can.

@thislittlepennyearns There will definitely come a time when he regrets not knowing. At least, I assume.

@AmbiePam He is. I wish he'd learn to cook. I keep telling him that he needs to know how to cook at least a few things before he turns 18.

For some unknown reason, we've just never celebrated Valentine's day. Once in a while Dale would send me flowers at work, but it wasn't a big deal. Now we have a grandson in law with a birthday February 14.
I like your idea of getting together with friends the day after.
