Today when I reached the jungle ; where I go everyday; a farmer came running to me and informed me about the herd of elephants that has strayed into this part of the jungle.
He said to me not to come to the jungle till January end.
He was right. In winter elephants come into this jungle and move towards the villages in the proximity in search of food.
They eat up paddy in the yards of the farmers.
Farmers try to scare away them by beating drums and burning crackers.
From tomorrow I'll not go to the jungle. I'll walk to the other side that is safe.

It would be better to do so. The herd can go out of control and be dangerous.

Yes; I know. From tomorrow I'll not go to the jungle. The herd is there and if they see anybody; they will attack them.

@Shivram59 Yes, they can. They might sense it as danger and attack out of self protection.

@arunima25 We are dangerous to them and thay are to us.
Actually we human beings have destroyed their habitats. They have no food there. So they attack the villages for food.

@kareng Yes; they do; but only in the daytime. After sundown it gets dark. At that time they don't go there.

@Shivram59 The project seems to be organised by Save the Elephants, maybe you could suggest to local farmers to contact them and ask for help

Today morning I went to the opposite side where there are schools and a vegetable market and no jungles. There farmers confirmed the news that elephants had come to the jungle.
