Taking a while to read Anna Karenina

It’s taking a long time to read Anna Karenina. I’m currently on page 335 and according to Goodreads I’ve read only 39%. I thought I’d be at least halfway done. I have until January 23rd to finish it. Hopefully, I will make it. Not sure if I’ll be able to renew it, if I don’t. I prefer to read real books as opposed to ebooks but this book is huge so it’s not the most comfortable thing to hold, especially for a long time. Hands get tired. But I try to read at least a little everyday so that I can finish it in time and also so I can move on to other books. I know the year just started but I don’t want to get behind on my reading goal for this year. I set it to 77 books, though I hope to get to 80.

I remember back when my mom was alive. She was an avid reader. She stayed up 2-3 days reading a huge, thick biography on Queen Catherine of Aragon.

Books like that can be hard on the hands. And more and more modern books seem to be incredibly long.

I, too, prefer books to ebooks. I like smelling and touching the texture of the paper.

@lovebuglena There is a Classic version that stars Vivien Leigh. I have only seen parts of it.

Best of luck to you, I usually get into an interesting book and cannot put it down, I know what you mean about holding a big book but I try to do the best I can,

Also reading for a long time can out a strain on the eyes. If eyes are tired don’t want to force it.
