A female dog who is around 20 months of age named Brooklyn who is a female dog managed to leave her owner's home around Christmas Eve and run into Lake Parsippany in New Jersey and she was in the frozen lake for about one day when a neighbor who lives near the lake named Kishan Patel used a drone to locate Brooklyn.
Kishan then contacted the Parsippany Police Department when a police officer was able to rescue the dog and return her safely and reunite with her owners.
Kishan who also owns dogs of his own is happy to use drones as a way to rescue a dog that needed to be rescued in a frozen lake.

I guess the dog was not in extreme danger since she did not fall into the icy water.

The poor dog in that frigid water. It's so nice when people come together to help.

That dog certainly was lucky considering how cold that water must have been

Drones can be useful at times, but at other times they can get in the way of real rescuers, as is happening with the Los Angeles fires, where the drones just want good pictures, but are interfering with the firefighting tools too, as this headline from CBS news says:
"FBI investigating Los Angeles firefighting aircraft damaged by drone."
This rescue of the dog is the right use of drones, and it was good that the dog was rescued.

Drones being used to assist the police to find a person is priceless. interfering with the firefighters is out of bound.
