It's mid January and it's a festival time in India. In different states and communities harvest festivities mark these days. Pongal in Tamilnadu, Lohri in Punjab and Poush Parbon in our very Bengal keep the people thrilled. What thrills me most are the special cookies prepared to celebrate the feast. We will cook some in our kitchen too . The economic health is not the best in our country. A dollar is equal to all time low Rs 86. Crowds of Indians are leaving their country for better places like US, UK, Canada, Australia etc. Whatever the Bhajan singers sing the Indian passport is pitied. International criteria prove. We Indians are very religious people. The government controlled electronic media serves opium freely and we enjoy it. There are huge fairs on these day at the riversides and seasides. Today , I have to buy rice, flour, vegetables, cooking oil and other groceries. Maybe I'll buy a little of everything or some of them can wait for a better day. Everyday it's getting worse. Not sure, when a better day will come .
