Los Angeles-California Inferno: Newsom, Bass and How Not to Govern a Crisis

So many reasons as to why this fire got out of control and eventually became a catastrophic, Santa Ana winds aside. Let's examine the failures.
1. Why were there not water for the fireman to fight the blaze? Why were fire hydrants empty?
***The answer lies a lot with leftist politics in an overwhelmingly Democratic (one party) state. For example, 7 water storage plants were approved by California voters but were never built because Governor Newsom bowed to environmentalist pressure. It seems the reason had to do with certain fish potentially being harmed. I guess Governor Newsom felt protecting the smelt fish was more important than protecting Californians.
2. Preparedness, Priorities and Climate Change
***California leadership will never clean up its forest and use protocols to lessen the dangers of fires. Preparedness means doing things like water storage, irrigation and funding for necessary equipment. No, instead I read California spent 1.3 billion (that's a "B") to support the homeless so they can continue their lifestyle of drug use and violence. And just in L.A., cut fire funding and staff by 17 million. Los Angeles can thank Mayor Bass for that one. Hope she enjoyed her African (Safari) trip to Ghana.
3. Why are incompetent people put in leadership positions such as Fire Chief, Mayor and yes Governor?
***It's called a DEI hire hierarchy. You might have heard of it. Putting people into positions based on race, ethnicity, sex, or sexual preference. I'm sure we remember presidential candidate Kamala Harris, a great example of this practice. Well, just like a president, I think it's important when hiring someone for an important job like firefighter, they should require them to have the qualifications and the ability to do the job. These attributes are much more important than inclusion. People need to be honest about wokeness and reevaluate priorities when voting for leadership.
4. Government Mismanagement and a Leftist Agenda
***Governor Newsom was more concerned about fund raising to hire lawyers to defend "criminal illegal aliens" against deportations in upcoming Trump Administration instead of fire preparedness. The Governor even bragged about demolishing 4 dams which would have provided 80,000 homes with a renewable energy source which would have brought clean water to the residents of California.
Is this the way to manage a state? Gee, it would have been nice if Newsom did some fund raising to make sure fire hydrants were filled with water in a state with a history of fires. duh
5. By the Numbers:
***15,000 Acres destroyed, at least 25 deaths reported from the fire as of Monday.
IN A NUTSHELL:
*California leadership has not done nearly enough to protect the citizens of California from fires...
P.S.- I did watch a video of a man reuniting with his dog who survived the fire. A brief moment of "Kamala Democratic Joy" in an otherwise tragic event. So, there's that...
IN CLOSING:
HERE IS A MUST WATCH VIDEO FROM "YOU TUBE": The footage provides a much better perspective on what these poor citizens are going through. Videos can be a powerful message! See for yourself...

-In my opinion people in California vote for politicians that have no interest in problem solving. But they sure can cause problems.

@porwest Yes, they are mesmerized by the shiny ideological rhetoric spun by politicians like Obama, Harris and Newsom. Like insects caught in a spider's web!

This goes right along with the age-old common sense thought that "elections have consequences." In this case, those consequences reared their heads. Perhaps there is a silver lining in all of this, and that silver lining would be that the voters in California FINALLY realize the error of their ways, and most importantly, who they vote for. I don't have a lot of faith, but you never know.
Californians will get a shot to change course in 2026, and it would be interesting to see someone step up to run for Governor who can point back to this massive disaster and make it part of a winning campaign. Who knows? As for Newsom, it will also be interesting to see what he does next considering he can't run again in 2026—would he ever run for president? I guess he could. Could he win? I am not sure he could, and this mark will leave quite a stain on his reputation, I am sure.

I am seeing that some of the celebs in California are fed up with this garbage, but I doubt it will be enough to overcome the state Democrat machine there.
The voters obviously have elected incompetent people for years and, it is likely, they will continue to do so because millions are blinded by ideological nonsense.
The ultimate price is now being paid by Californians for Gavin Newsom's fire management and leadership. Newsom can kiss is credibility and run for the White House goodbye (and good riddance).
More Questions to Ponder:
-Was it helpful for L.A. Mayor Bass when she did give a press conference to tell people she has seen the fire devastation firsthand? These citizens are experiencing the heartbreak and devastation themselves. Did she lose her home? What they need to be told is why this happened and whose is responsible for the decisions which led to L.A. being unprepared for the fire. Where is this Mayor's leadership? Her remorse, her acceptance of the blame. She is incompetent and should resign!
-Why isn't the fire chief's top priority preventing and stopping fires. Instead, on her website she claims her main goal as fire chief is to bring diversity to the fire department.
You don't vote for candidates who make you feel "warm and fuzzy" inside because you supported a LGBTQ person. Voters need to scrutinize more carefully who they vote for.

@porwest Yes, I've heard some of conservative celebs who actually possess some common sense lay the blame with Newsom, the Fire Chief, and Mayor Bass. And they pointed out their mismanagement in their comments. Then you have the Governor saying were going to get to the bottom of what happened when his forest management and woke environmental crap played a major role in the spread of these fires.
Totally unprepared! Where were your prevention policies Govenor? You were warned by Trump when he was President in 2019 and ignored him. California needs to stop checking the DEI box and vote on someone's resume as you state.
This is what happens when you vote for a DEI candidate like Mayor Bass!

@dgobucks226 My guess is that it's more so the conservative celebs affected shouting the loudest. The other ones on the liberal side are still looking at other people to blame. "It can't POSSIBLY be stupidity and bad decisions that caused all of this..."
But you're right. You can look at Democrat "run-down" cities across the nation that have been run into the ground for decades, that still continue to elect people in the same party who have been driving the bulldozers and planning the ruin since day one. They just don't get it. They all believe it's someone else's fault that makes their cities the sh*tholes they become. The rich, the greedy, the racists...
It's something I have said several times about these fires. It's a hell of a time to shake your head at these people and say, "I told you so." But...they WERE told. Time and time again. Multiple times. Over and over. I mean, it may sound heartless to not feel as sorry for them as I probably should. But if you see someone walk up to a lion to pet it and they get eaten alive, it's not like the person didn't know it was a lion and it might eat you if you get too close.
It's horrible. But is it really SAD?
The mayor should be immediately recalled. We need to hold inept politicians to account. It needs to send a message. It's not okay for mistakes to be made and keep your job. If the average person is incompetent in their own jobs, do they get to keep them? Hell no. So, why do politicians get to screw everything up and remain in power?
Get her out.
Same goes for the fire chief. Her duty is to the PEOPLE. Her only job is to hire EFFECTIVE people able to EFFCTIVELY stop fires when they happen.
Get HER out.
The bottom line is that people need to THINK rather than just believe in something and in all the BS they hear. Not only hear the words these corrupt, inept politicians say, but step back and actually evaluate whether any of it is TRUE. And we need a media that restores itself to faithfully reporting the facts, rather than simply acting as Democratic propaganda machines hell bent on marketing IDEAS instead of telling us what they mean and what the real results of them are.
California is the perfect example of a broken system. Elections matter. They have consequences. But the REAL consequence is when voters aren't paying attention, or worse, if they are, can't accept the truth.

The visuals that we get to see on online platforms are terrible and very upsetting. I read a news piece online dates 11 Jan stating that around 35000 acres is burnt. The before and after pictures circulating on various platforms are upsetting.
Keeping everyone there in prayers and just praying that the fire is in control soon. Seems like it's only 6% in control so far after so many days.

@dgobucks226 That is horrible and so unfortunate. Innocent lives suffer for such incompetency. That's a shame. Nothing can replace the emotional loss.
