In a book(Perfect Town, Perfect Murder) published by Lawrence Schiller in 1999, he brings up some very interesting ideas regarding the murder of the 6-year-old daughter of John and Patsy Ramsey. The murder occurred on Dec. 25-26, 1996 in Boulder, Colorado, and was never solved. However, the author does bring up some interesting facts regarding the case. The housekeeper, Linda Hoffman Pugh was interviewed. She had an inside look at the house and the family. She had some insights no one else would have been privy to.
She knew that Patsy was very tired. She had two birthday celebrations to get ready for. She was cleaning up after these parties since the housekeeper wasn't able to come in. She had gone to NY for a shopping trip with a friend. She was getting Jon Bonet ready for a pageant. She was also packing and getting everything ready for a second Christmas celebration at their lake house in Michigan.
Patsy had been left in the lerch by the housekeeper. There was a Christmas tree in every room which was a lot of work to set up and take down. Jon Bonet was a handful. She wet the bed nearly every night. The smell of urine upon entering Jon Bonet's bedroom would have been overpowering and an added stressor for Patsy. The housekeeper said that this often made Patsy mad and she would take Jon Bonet into the bathroom and close the door. Could there have been an accident in the bathroom since Patsy was stretched to the limit and was very tired? There had been a drop or two of blood found in an area of the bathroom.
Patsy was depressed. John did little to help her. He would take a pill and go to bed and could sleep through anything.
Patsy was a showy, flashy woman who never wore the same outfit twice yet she had on the same outfit(red top and black pants) that she had been wearing the night before on Christmas morning when the police arrived.
Patsy had been a Girl Scout and knew how to tie knots. There were unusual knots used in the rope tied around Jon Bonet's neck. And, the white blanket that was wrapped around her body was something that only a family member would have known where it could be found.
Also, the housekeeper asked Patsy for a loan at that time. A certain amount was mentioned in that mysterious 2-3 page letter they found on the back stairs.
Patsy died of cancer in 2006. I wonder what memories she took to the grave. So many other people were investigated in the murder. The Boulder, Colorado Police Department had 1,038 clues. The author, Lawrence Schiller's researcher, Charles Brennan did 571 interviews with nearly 200 people. Several other people did their research too with no true results. What if the murder was executed by someone much closer to home? But, we can do the what-if game all we want because I doubt the murder will ever be solved, just like the real truth about Marilyn Monroe's passing, and the Black Dahlia which have always fascinated me.

It was a very sad thing. I do wish they had been able to find who was responsible.

Yes, but I think the truth is closer than we realize. Just no proof.

Watch the latest documentary and it will touch on this and many other rumors. She had male DNA on her underpants mixed with her own. Technology now can separate those and they are in the process. It will take awhile but they can match that in all the databases and find him or family related. I do not believe she harmed her nor do I believe a 9 year-old boy do it and sexually assault her.

Yes, saw that and was disappointed. I think the male DNA may be a mistake. That was found early on and nothing ever came of it.

I had to teach some forensic science classes over the past several years. I used this murder as a case study from several angles--securing the scene, collecting evidence, handwriting analysis, and even autopsies.
The consensus from my students is that Burke did it. He was known to have already been violent and hit someone in the head with a golf club. And there is also that forensic audio of Patsy yelling at Burke (son) "what did you do?"
My money is on Burke.

Many such cases go unresolved. It would be good if they are resolved. Those who are not the culprit have something weighing on them throughout if they're innocent but still suspects

Yes, but I think one in the family did it and it may have been an accident this one made to look like someone else did it.

@celticeagle Yes, they are all the speculations. Not sure if anyone would ever come to know the truth.
