Are there ideas that haven’t been done?

You know how paid survey sites (Please DO NOT mention any specific survey sites as that is against Mylot rules) ask you to watch episodes of (mostly) new shows and then ask you questions afterwards about what you watched? I was watching a sitcom on one of those survey sites yesterday, and I thought how companies were scraping the bottom of the barrel with ideas, right down to the names of shows (although I realize those are subject to change). Are there any ideas that haven’t been done that people would watch? Because I bet some people have fresh ideas, they just wouldn’t attract an audience. But hey, if we are going to copy past show ideas, can we copy clean or family friendly ideas too?

I only belong to 1 survey site these days. I haven't had any surveys like that, they are mostly for purchases, to be consumed or used in the home. I would much rather myLot than do a survey.

I can’t afford not to do surveys if I want to buy anyone any presents or send anyone any Christmas or birthday cards. They even pay for some of my prescriptions. Because disability certainly doesn’t pay all the bills. I have my limits though. I sat through that middling 20 minute sitcom for the money, but they frequently ask me to watch 40 minute dramas, and that is too long for me! I’m very glad you Mylot over surveys.

I think they need new blood in there; as in new writers and/or creators. All of the movies that have been re-created are basically Crapola. Just need fresh ideas and good imaginations to make it happen.

I only take surveys online without videos, Somehow my PC does not play the videos the sites provide, YouTube works fine just not when a video is in a survey,

You know, there is nothing new under the sun, but things I see today give me pause. Even reels on Facebook seem very inappropriate.

Maybe something like a family biking across the country or something..and the people they meet along the way. That might be interesting.

It's hard to come up with completely original ideas these days, but it's not entirely impossible. Maybe because of the speed in which they have to come up with this stuff, it's just easier to rehash topics from older programs - simply change this and that to contemporary scenarios. For whatever reason we're in this era of "copying" . . . that's getting old for me, personally (or is it me that's getting old ). I'd like to see more of the "wholesome" too.

You’re so right—some of the newer show ideas feel like they’re running on fumes. It’s almost like they’re recycling for the sake of filling time slots. There’s definitely room for fresh, creative concepts, but I agree—it can be hard to draw a big audience unless the idea has some kind of "hook." It would be great to see more family-friendly or clean comedies again. They always seem to have lasting appeal because they’re relatable and can be enjoyed by all ages. Hopefully, we’ll see a revival of those wholesome vibes soon!

I would absolutely love that if we saw a revival of the family friendly type of shows. I think people are so eager for that kind of thing that they would be a hit.

There is a list somewhere of basic story plots. Variations on these are used but basically all novels are based on one of these ideas.
