Home from Food bank...

Photo I took walking home from the food bank today

Hello, all! It's 12:34, and I've been home about fifteen or twenty minutes. When I was putting food away, I checked a bag on the floor and it was full of rotting fruit, so I took it straight to the dumpster! I do not want to have a fruit fly problem again! I wasn't as tired as I was coming home the last time I went to the food bank and was dragging my cart home, so I made it home myself. Everything has been put away (though I do want to check a bag on the floor to make sure it's empty), so I will need lunch, to make a couple of phone calls, and do Bible study. After that--?--probably reading, come to think of it. Hope that all is well with you in your part of myLot land!

Even the peel of fruits attracted flies,i usually clear fruits out of room rather than threw it into inside trash bin, otherwise, fly will stay in my room.

As someone who had a fruit fly problem last summer, I am with you on doing whatever you have to to keep them away.

I have volunteered in soup kitchens before. It is sad when they get things like rotting fruit or mold-covered donuts. Things like that are not doing any favors for the homeless or hungry souls that come to eat at these places.

That's awful. This bag wasn't from today--I think it's one I left on the floor and forgot about.

@xstitcher I hope that sort of thing does not happen often. It is good you noticed before the fruit fly invasion starts.

I am doing the best I can to enjoy my day working at home this afternoon. Good thing you did get rid of the rotten fruit since fruit flies are terrible.

@akalinus That's where drain flies lay their eggs.

Yes, definitely keep those bags empty and cleaned up. All kinds of pests will want to nest in them.

I'm glad you didn't have problems coming home today!! Reading sounds good. I'm feeling tired already tonight so may head to the bedroom early myself and read myself to sleep!! See you tomorrow.
