I was going to post here this morning, around 6 a.m. but the site would not come up. We have now worked four days in a row. That is the most we have worked in one week since before Christmas. It is hard to get back in the swing of things. Our school is doing "One School, One Book" where all the classes have the same book read aloud to them daily for about two weeks. We do fun activities as a school.In morning assembly the librarian asks questions about the previous day's chapters and kids can win little trinkets for getting them right. We are reading Fenway and Hattie by Victoria J. Coe. one book of a series. It is about dogs and adventures. Today at the end of the day we had special guests. We had a dog trainer from the area, with her Golden Retriever, and also an emotional support dog and school counselor from our Middle School. The trainer showed us how she trains dogs, and actually our other guest dog, Piper, a King Charles Spaniel, had been one of her students and remembered her. The trainer did very well at engaging the kids. She explained that dogs like to do what makes them feel good, and if they are not trained what makes them feel good, like tearing up things and shredding paper, etc. may make their owners unhappy and it is important to train them. Any student that wanted to was allowed to pet the guest dogs, Annie and Piper, as they left the gym. So we had a very nice day. The sun was shining. The temperatures got up to around 40 F. Some of the snow is melting off now.
