Arby's: We Have the Meats

We stop at Arby's a good bit when we are out and about running errands in McComb. We try to steer clear of fast foods in general, but when it comes down to the hubby needing to eat to avoid a blood sugar crash, Arby's is usually the choice. My husband likes the new hamburgers they have out. The first round of putting them out was a no-go as they were served up raw. They disappeared from the menu for several months and then reappeared. My husband has been ordering them again, but orders them well done. He likes them very much and they look much more filling than anything from McDonald's or Burger King. I decided to try one the other night when I picked up food on my way home from the flea market, mall and Walmart. We ate our sandwiches when I got home. My verdict on the hamburger was just okay. I wasn't impresses and that was mainly because of the "special sauce" that they put on them. I didn't know they had a special sauce on them. But next time (if there is a next time) on ordering a hamburger from there, I will ask them to hold the special sauce. My husband said the special sauce is similar to McDonald's sauce on Big Macs, but I didn't think it tasted like that. So this is your warning if you have not tried the Arby's hamburgers yet-- there is a special sauce and you may or may NOT like it! What's your favorite sandwich from Arby's? I usually order the crispy chicken sandwich, but also love the Greek Gyro! Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

@kaylachan Nope, just regular Whoppers or Whopper Jr's.

Sorry you don't have them there. They are better than McDonald's for sure!

I was sad to see that the 2 for $6.99 deal was gone. Only fish sandwiches are 2 for $6.99 now.

@kaylachan Everything is so far around here that a lot can't be brought home to eat, otherwise you are eating soggy food for sure.

@kareng That really does suck. Since the food tends to be a slop factory I don't want it delivered.

The regular roast beef sandwich does it for me. I am waiting until they have that 4 for 10 special again. I froze a couple.

We used to order those a lot, but recently they have added a lot of sodium to the meat and when you are on a low sodium diet the taste of it just stands out and that is all that you can taste.

@snowy22315 Right the meat has to be healthier. I just checked the sodium content on the hamburger and classic roast been online and the hamburger has 400 more mg. of sodium than the beef. The number for both are very high though. Classic Roast Beef is 970 mg and the hamburger is 1367. That's a whole lot of sodium for one single meal!

@kareng To me they taste like they always have. I would say they are still healthier than a hamburger.

Is Arby's serves a healthy food? For a fast food that's very good, I mean imagine having a fastfood where you will not worry about your sugar and fatty intakes. I hope many will have that kind of food serving. One of my wishes is that instant ramen is one of the healthiest food ever, I really like eating it, but I know that's very harmful to health if we eat it everyday.

It is supposed to be! However, they have added a lot of sodium in their Classic Beef sandwiches. They are not very enjoyable anymore.

@luisadannointed It is needed, that is for sure! Of course, they would probably price themselves out of the market though.

@kareng That's sad to know. I wonder if there will be a fastfood that really sell healthy comfort food.

Yes, I used to love the Cheddar and Beef sandwiches, but not so much anymore with all the extra sodium they have added to the meat. It's a no go for us with low sodium diets.

I haven’t ordered from them in years, but when I did, it was always the Greek gyro. Growing up, I couldn’t stand Arby’s, but I’m pretty it was because I had an overload of red meat, and their roast beef didn’t do it for me. Some of their commercials really make me laugh.

They seem to be putting more salt in the beef sandwiches now. We used to love those, but now seldom order them. I love the greek gyros!

We used to love them, but they have added too much sodium now. It's a lot for people who normally have a low sodium intake/diet.

We had paninis at the cinema the other day. I don't usually like them but there were good.
