Time to start acting my age I suppose.

Now that I’m a retired gentleman of 67 summers I have noticed that everyone I deal with in life is younger than me. Anyone whose services I have need of is still working and therefore younger than I am. Doctor (who I’ve never met) dentist, shop assistants, minister, man I recently bought a car from, mechanic, police officers, insurance brokers, plumber, electrician, … I’m older than them all yet I consider myself to be among them, sometimes 19 years old, sometimes 35, but never 67. It still seems very unreal. Do you feel/act your age or your shoe size?

I hear what you're saying. Sometimes, you think these people can't possibly be qualified when they're only 16.

I refuse to grow in my mind though my body shows signs otherwise.

In my head I'm 25. In fact if I can legitimately 'identify' as a man, a woman, or any other 'gender' then I don't see why I can't 'identify' as a 25-year-old.

@fleura My niece who has lead a troubled existence started to identify as a boy at 14 and the entire establishment supported and encouraged her. (But not me) Then one day my wife took her to buy badly needed new clothes and as the girl was looking at the boys department she strayed into junior miss and spotted some lovely wee tops and skirts and became a girl again and hasn’t looked back.

@xFiacre If at around age 10 I had been told I could 'be' a boy just like that I probably would have jumped at the chance. But it just wasn't an option then. I was picked on for not being a very 'girly' girl but in the end it has worked out ok and knowing now about all the health risks of hormone treatment etc. I would never recommend it. After all if 'identifying' as something could make you that thing, surely a blind person could just identify as seeing and that would be that, all sorted!
