How many words /sentences do you consider as appropriate for a response in Mylot?

There are many a times we would get responses for our discussions here at Mylot. Some of these responses could be single sentences or multiple sentences. Sometimes it could be less words or more. After my first month at Mylot, I have always made it a point to at least write more sentences to convey the response properly. I am not sure if that approach counts when Mylot earnings are calculated. But then it helps to give out the proper response to the discussions. So according to you , how many words /sentences do you consider as appropriate for a response in Mylot?

I don't count words/sentences when giving a response on a discussion here. If I'm interested enough in the discussion to respond, then I write my response as if we're talking to each other face-to-face. (I will admit, when responding to someone I don't know very well, my response may seem long-winded. I want to make sure the other person understands me.)

Well, thats a great approach- To an unknwon person , conveying with more sentences and elaborating the point so that the points are conveyed with proper meaning. Thanks for sharing!

I don't think there is any 'correct' amount. Sometimes, you can say all you need in one sentence. Other times, a further explanation is required. Personally, I just write stuff until I'm finished. As long as the response is more than a one word response, and is something that has meaning and relevance, that's groovy.

Very correct champ! There is never a formula to say the appropriate number of words or sentences for a given discussion. We should ensure our response is meaningful. Thanks for sharing!

It depends on the discussion. I prefer to write two three sentences in my response. I have noticed detailed responses are better to express what you feel.

Well, for some discussions we cannot be detailed but for some detailed would be much appreciated. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t count words or sentences when replying to Mylot posts. It depends on the discussions how long my responses are.

I don't think a word count matters. So long as the comment is thoughtful, and conveys its message, it is a good comment that serves its purpose. The only thing I do try to do is to make the comment such that it encourages a conversation. It doesn't always work. But that's usually the aim.

@RevivedWarrior Plus, if it keeps the conversation going? Even better. That is the mark of a good comment. One which allows a thread to form as opposed to a simple single comment and like that goes nowhere beyond that.

According to the discussion I reply. Have never thought how many sentences I should respond. I just write whatever comes to my mind.

it depends on what's on my mind as long as it's related to what's being discussed.

We need to express whats on our mind. Perhaps it could be in few words and sometimes in could be in two paragraphs.

Doesn't matter. Actually the longer I write, it means I really understand the blog or I really love the topic, and I have knowledge on what the blogger is trying to say in his/her blog post. The shorter I answer is because the blogger did not ask anything, or fail to make his/her readers to engage on their post.

Thats an interesting perspective. It is true we tend to write longer in case we understood more on the topic. Thanks for sharing!

I guess there is no standard as to how long our responses or even discussions be but for me as long as we can understand each other it would be enough. Just like chatting there is no standard size for our messages. That's only what I think.

Well. that makes perfect sense. In case something can be explained in less words but with the full meaning that should be all fine to be considered as a good response. Yes, there may not be any universal standard for such things.

Mostly I guess I write two or three sentences. I don't take much notice. Sometimes I might write more.

lol As long as i get what i want to say across, I don't count words or sentences- so long as I don't write a novel! Genuine response that shows you are interested with the what the person wrote will likely get you a response or a like, hence, little earning.
