How Much Do You Think Your Stuff is Worth?

I was making a spreadsheet of everything that was in my missing suitcase, including the suitcase itself, to be prepared if have to make a claim for my belongings. It surprised me to see that my contents and suitcase added up to $1,200.00. Have I really been lugging around $1200 worth of stuff with me every time I travel? It was just two weeks worth of clothes, toiletries, and a few misc. items. But it added up quickly. Did you ever stop to think how much your stuff is worth?

I don't. I do look around the house and know there's probably $100k worth of stuff lurking. Maybe more. Who even knows?

No , because I only bring what I need like hanky , cold bottled water , my money , umbrella and ointment. I think that I always have affordable things I need whenever I have to travel anytime in my country.

Have never actually calculated because I have always travelled light. But reading this discussion I was wondering what would be the worth of everything in my house. Over the years we keep buying things and I don't think I can randomly say how much I have spent on furnitures and fixtures.

No, I never think about that. I know people have to list things with homeowners insurance for the big things like family heirlooms, but the only “heirloom” I have is my mom’s engagement ring.
