My first post flew away.

It is after noon friends. And the morning and my first post flew together and joined the debris beyond the atmosphere. It is hot here. Hot and dry. I haven´t seen Luna. I think that she is hiding under the shadow of a tree or inside her house. I´ll make some salads for today and while I´m eating it, I´ll cook rice to have as a side for tomorrow when Martín comes for lunch. I could also make a Spanish tortilla. They are not hot and can even be eaten lukewarm. I´m also watching Christmas movies. They have a marathon of then at a channel here and although most are not very good, they are better than the news. Anything is better than news in fact. Enjoy your Sunday and take care. Wrap your neck and wear warm socks and footwear if you go out. I know that most of you are in the middle of winter. See you later.

It is Winter, but it does not get that cold here. We had intense fog earlier, but it is starting to burn off now.

I have heard that California has a similar climate to the one we have where I live. (Including the fires)

You are north of the fire area, right? Is it still hot?

Discusions fly often here. I would not have those problems, I imagine, if I took the laptop to the dining room instead of writing on my lap while watching TV from my bed.

That has happened to me more than once, and it is frustrating. I think they go somewhere beyond the sun.

@akalinus The colder it gets here is a couple of hours at dawn. Then in is around 0° C (32° F) at maybe 6 am. Then I´m in bed so I don´t mind so much. My house never needs central heating.

It is too cold to bother going out here, even for groceries although that's what Pretty wants today. (It's -10C here and just after noon.) In a few days it will still be cold but not below freezing anymore. Then we can go grocery shopping. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, dear friend.

I can´t even imagine -10 C. During winter, the lowest it gets some days for one or 2 hours at dawn is 0° C (33° F) I don´t even have central heating in my home.

@marguicha I understand. You get temps similar to what pony gets in California... I bet he'd freeze at that temp, too. We have central heating and air conditioning here. It can be below freezing here for weeks at a time in the Winter.

@DaddyEvil I don´t like either central heating nor AC. When I go to Aruba, the apartments have AC and I take winter PJs to wear at night.

It sounds like good eating at your house. We are supposed to get snow north of us. It is raining now and the temperature is dropping. I hope it does not turn to snow.

@akalinus Yeah, I know... We're in the first day of the vortex. It's 14F here and supposed to go down to 5F during the night. We're set up for cold temps in my part of Missouri so we'll be fine. We have three or four electric heaters we brought from the last house we lived in. I stored them on the other side of the washing machine, just in case we needed them... You'd be welcome to come borrow them if you want.

@DaddyEvil It usually doesn't but the nation is expecting a polar vortex. Those are never good. Central Florida homes are not usually set up for those temperatures. This vortex is supposed to last four days, so we shall see what happens. It has been a weird year and it is still January.

It is currently 7 degrees. Wind chill way below zero. Yes, it's winter here. We wear layers and try to stay inside if at all possible. I hope you and Luna stay cool. Drink lots of water!

Both of us are drinking lots of water. I have a faucet for Luna that is dripping a bit of water all the time. In that case, I don´t mind losing some water. Luna is more important. And I have water and tea nearby for me.

@marguicha It seems weird that it is that warm there and so very cold here, but that's how the world is. We are all trying to stay warm right now!

Yes and arctic blast is on the way. We are expecting up to 5 inches of snow here in southern Mississippi. Crazy!

Sure wish the warmth would return to Florida, Woke up this morning and it looked like nighttime was coming, The sky looked so gray my first though was Oh, no snow! Then the wind picked up and rain came tumbling down, I had to have the lights on now it has become lighter and the rain is gone, I hope you have a good start to the new week,

I have visited Florida and only once did they have an awful winter. I remember that the orange trees had to be watered so that ice would not kill them.

We watched a couple of terrible Christmas movies. Have you run out of wildlife documentaries?
