Absurd me

I really do try- at times- to be tidy. This morning I was scouting around for a sweater vest cause its winter cold out. There on the bottom of my bedroom closet's floor lay a pocket sized elephant. A friend that I had long ago gave the little guy to me. It kind of looks like a Dollar Store elephant. Maroon and cream colored fellow. Its smooth and feels good in the hand. This morning I gave the elephant to my hubby. I told him that once he got to church he should give it to my newest friend. She likes elephants. I dropped him off at the church sanctuary, spotted friend's hubby. I whispered to him that my hubby had an elephant for his wife. He nodded, looked at me and asked: "Is it in your car?" I answered "No. The elephant is in my hubby's pocket." I thought about what I had said to the poor guy and laughed all the way to my car. I wonder what he thought? An elephant?

Mostly I'm sort of tidy but others may not think so. It's probably safer if I don't ask them.

@JudyEv I love country folks. I remember my Dad in our farmhouse sitting at the kitchen table with friends, sharing coffee and telling windy stories.

@sallypup I'm a country girl. We had coffee with some other people who live here and their house is beautifully decorated. Ours is really 'ordinary' compared to theirs.

@snowy22315 One of the benefits of living in town is having recycling done twice a month. We'd be swamped without that help.

@sallypup They recycle here, but you have to take it to a collection point. It is the same place where you take your trash so not a big deal really.

That is such a nice share and your elephant will carry good vibes from your old friend to your new one.

You must be going higher on the list in his mind of people you’ll never know what they’re going to say.

@jstory07 I bought the cutest stuffed cat from Safeway years ago. "Leanna Lynx." She looks like a lynx and yes, if you press her, she growls. My dearly departed Godiva freaked out when we had Leanna growl near her.

Oh my gosh hopefully he didn’t think it was a dirty joke. If he did when he sees the elephant he will get a good chuckle.

Ha ha - too funny! Either it's a teeny weenie elephant or a seriously huge pocket .
