What a splendid day 20th January was, a day of joy, wonder and optimism. This was the day I received my first monthly pension cheque of 2025 and lo and behold, I’ve got a £25 raise! That ought to keep me in ice creams - 2 a week! That’s my work pension: my state pension goes up by £40 in April. I’m going to be slurping ice creams for a long time to come.
What do you spend unexpected money on?

Congrats to you and enjoy it, I never have unexpected money every penny for me needs to be accounted for, I got very luck before I went to live in Latvia for 20 + years I had worked for 8 years in NYC. So when I returned from Latvia I was 60 and found out I could ask for my SS and that started off my journey here very nicely,

Ice-creams are expensive nowadays. We hunt around for the cheapest petrol and save enough for about half an ice-cream.
