My 2025 is Not Off to a Good Start

As you know, I'm having a bad month on what was supposed to be a GREAT month celebrating my 60th birthday (this Thursday, Jan 23). First, my trip to Japan got cancelled. Next, it's been 5 days and my luggage is still missing. Finally, I'm sick with an upper respiratory infection and quite honestly feeling pretty crappy. Hubby is sick as well and today is HIS birthday and I wasn't able to take him out for lunch because I was too weak. So one way I could look at it is that God knew I was going to get sick and didn't want me sick in Japan so far from home and miserable on my trip, so the trip got cancelled to keep me home and recovering. Or I could just wallow in my misery. I choose the former. Here's hoping for a better rest of the year.

I was just thinking what a good thing it was you didn’t get this sick so far from home.

That's really a good thing you did not get sick in other countries. I'm pretty sure that will be difficult for you

Being too sick on a trip would not have been good at all . . . so yah, perhaps it was for the best that it worked out this way. Hope you feel better soon and that you can make up for your birthday trip on a later date.

My mother's favorite saying was: Everything happens for a reason. My parents were deeply religious. And, believed God has a plan even if we never find out what that is. You'll have another chance to make it to Japan. It's better you're here, with your husband.

I’m glad that, if you had to get sick, you’re home. Some insurance companies don’t provide coverage overseas. God was looking out for you.
