Day 3 – Help 2 Chronicles 2:1 Then Solomon determined to build a temple for the name of JEHOVAH, and a royal house for himself. 2 Solomon selected seventy thousand men to bear burdens, eighty thousand to quarry stone in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred to oversee them. 3 Then Solomon sent to Hiram king of Tyre, saying, ‘As you have dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me. 4 Behold, I am building a temple for the name of JEHOVAH my Elohiym, to dedicate it to Him, to burn before Him sweet incense, for the continual showbread, for the burnt offerings’ morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the New Moons, and on the set feasts of JEHOVAH our Elohiym. This is an ordinance forever to Israel. 5 Also, the temple which I build will be great, for our Elohiym is greater than every elohiym. 6 However, who can build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him? 7 Therefore, send me at once a man skillful to work in gold and silver, in bronze and iron, in purple and crimson and blue, who has skill to engrave with the skillful men who are with me in Judah and Jerusalem, whom David my father provided. 8 Also, send me cedar and cypress and algum logs from Lebanon, for I know your servants have skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and indeed, my servants will be with your servants, 9 to prepare timber for me in abundance, for the temple which I am about to build will be great and wonderful. 10 Indeed, I will give to your servants, the woodsmen who cut timber, twenty thousand kors of ground wheat, twenty thousand kors of barley, twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.’ 11 Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, ‘Because JEHOVAH loves His people, He made you king over them.’ 12 Hiram also said, ‘Blessed be JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He gave King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for JEHOVAH and a royal house for himself! 13 Now I sent a skillful man, endowed with understanding, Huram my master craftsman 14 (the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre), skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, stone and wood, purple and blue, fine linen and crimson, and to make any engraving and to accomplish any plan which may be given to him, with your skillful men and with the skillful men of my JEHOVAH David your father. 15 Now, therefore, the wheat, the barley, the oil, and the wine which my JEHOVAH has spoken of, let him send to his servants. 16 We will cut wood from Lebanon, as much as you need; we will bring it to you in rafts by sea to Joppa, and you will carry it up to Jerusalem.’ 17 Then Solomon numbered the aliens in the land of Israel, after the census in which David his father had numbered them; and found one hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred. 18 He made seventy thousand of them bearers of burdens, eighty thousand stonecutters in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred overseers to make the people work. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Supreme God Yeshuwa – Jesus Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Mighty Wind, Breath, Spirit Kurios, KURIOS – Supreme Authority Theos – Supreme Divinity God’s character: Holy Sovereign What was the last thing you determined to do? How did it turn out? How much help did you need to complete the task? Solomon determined to build the temple David tasked him to accomplish. However, he could not build the temple alone. He needed help. He asked Hiram, king of Tyre for help and he agreed to help Solomon with everything he required. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you needed help as a new Christian. You needed someone to come alongside you to disciple you and teach you what you needed to do in your walk with Yeshuwa. You cannot do it alone. Remember, you are the temple of the Hagios Pneuma who lives in you. As you learn and grow in your faith, your temple becomes more beautiful. However, if you don’t seek help, your temple will become derelict and the only one to live in your temple will be Satan. Solomon sought help to build JEHOVAH’S temple. He knew he couldn’t accomplish what his father tasked him without help. You need help too. Romans 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Kurios over everyone is rich to everyone who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the KURIOS will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” 16 However, not everyone obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Kurios, who believed our report?” 17 Therefore, then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Theos. No one can walk out their faith alone. They need help. You need help building your temple. You receive help when you go to church and Bible study. When you spend time with other believers around Yeshuwa’s Word, you build your temple and make it a thing of beauty. 1 Corinthians 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Kurios gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but Theos gave the increase. 7 Therefore, then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but Theos who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his reward according to his labor. 9 For we are Theos’s fellow workers; you are Theos’s field, you are Theos’s building. Paul encouraged the believers when he told them everyone had a part in the labor. We need to work together. We are the temple of Theos. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for reminding me that I cannot walk through this life alone. I need help with the work You gave me. Let me be like Solomon and ask for help when I need help so my temple can be beautiful as You intended. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. We need each other, no one can be an isolated island of their own. Community existence is important for any human set up. Some people feel that it's a sign of weakness to seek help.

Those were a lot of people available to work in those days - thousands upon thousands. Were they slaves or received some sort of pay.

I think the aliens mentioned in the count were slaves. The others weren't slaves, but workers Solomon hired. Have a blessed day.
