Today is my mother's birthday. Her gifts from me will be arriving today. I talked to her a couple of days when my sister was visiting. This was unbeknownst to me, I didn't think anything was planned. Anyway, things seem to be OK up there. I was worried when they first started talking about this winter storm they were saying something like 2 feet of snow where they live, and it has happened before. Luckily, they didn't get much. I mentioned they should get a stand by generator. They do cost a lot of money, but it would be worth it for everyone's peace of mind, and honestly they can afford it.

I goT her some special low acid coffee and adult coloring book for use with colored pencils. They are both up her alley.

They really need one. My mother is a tightwad, but they really need to have one as long as they are living in that home. Thank you on her behalf!

After living here for 5 years my husband bought a generator a few months ago. Honestly until now we never needed one power had never stayed out so long as it has the past year when it’s gone out. There are too many old trees on the lines they just need to do more upkeep but it’s probably a very big job and I know they work all the time they do what they can.

Yes, someone will have to convince my mother. Unless it comes to clothes and jewelry she is a real tightwad when it comes to money. She doesn't spend money on things she really should. Sis is the same way.

Yes, I mean if they had that kind of weather they would have a hard time escaping. They did a couple of years ago when their power went out with frigid temps. They went to a hotel, but they aren't getting any younger. Neither of them are really that mobile.
