Neat and Tidy

I like my home to be neat and tidy. A place for everything and everything in its place. An area in my home that drives me nuts is the area at our front door. We take our shoes off when we come in our house. Unfortunately the shoes are not always taken to their closet. We don’t have a coat closet in our living room entrance and the collection of shoes at the door is not very attractive. I am constantly putting them up. I like the look of this shoe tower. I’d rather not have shoes in the living room at all, but this would help me feel better about having the shoes there, I think I will look into getting one. Do you have an area in your home that is an eyesore ?

Well right now the living room has a bunch of boxes in it. I think I will put the big one outside though. I like those shoe towers too.

It’s probably the table when you first walk into my apartment. It looks like a “catch all” table, with paperwork, keys, candles, and so much more just sitting there.

@AmbiePam We have a hutch near the front door that can get cluttered if I don’t straighten it up every day.

What happens to the shoes when they are wet from snow or rain? Do you have another entrance the family could enter that is not so obvious? My bedroom is a mess right now. Workers are remodeling the bathroom I use. All the stuff that was in that bathroom is sitting in baskets and boxes in my room. But, it will go back better when they are done.

We have a mat at the front door. It rarely snows. We do have a back door, but it is seldom used.

@Tampa_girl7 Yes it does..but if I get a shelf..all the rocks and dripping snow will drip down onto the other shoes you know?

I have the same problem by the front door. We don't have a closet so our shoes are on the floor. I like that shoe tower and I bet it would work really well and keep things neat and tidy.

My workroom definitely needs an upgrade. Was planning to do it before the new year but got sidetracked.

I get sidetracked at times too. I think that I try to start too many things at one time.

Shoe storage has always been a problem here. We have a coat closet, but it's more like a 3/4 size . . . I had a shelving unit in there to hold our shoes. I realized that it wasted a lot of space though . . . so now I'm looking for a different way.

I'm a lousy housekeeper but I would like a place close to the front door where I could keep my gardening tools and leashes, thankfully shoes are not a problem for me so far.

Those stands do look quite nice and oragnized. We have an enclosed table with cupboard doors on the front of it that we store our shoes in. There is a small mat under the little bench that we have at the door for removing our shoes, and the shoes are left to dry if they are wet before putting them into the shoe cupboard. Our eyesore here is my office, it has always doubled a dump room and that hasn't changed any in the past 5 years since I've been spending 40 hours a week in there. I have plans for when I retire of making it decent and useable.

I love the look of this. What a great idea. Mostly I keep things reasonably tidy but sometimes it all gets away from me.

I am facing similar problem in my home, and it's mostly because of the laziness of my husband and daughter not to keep the shoes in the shoe cabinet. The shoe cabinet has enough space and it's right there. One just needs to open and keep it. Other one is the stationary cupboard in my balcony. That's far from the regular sight, it gets messy and needs a frequent decluttering.
