Garden’s starting to look promising.

I’ve been looking forward to the end of January, the time when I get busy in the garden again. I only do garden work in short bursts out of respect for my bad back, but it’s amazing what can be accomplished in 3 fifteen minute bouts in a day. All the debris from recent storms is now binned. Paths have been brushed and hosed down, and pots have been washed in readiness for whatever I chose to plant in them. A good deal of weeding had to be done and tubs of bulbs planted in the autumn have been positioned where I want them to bloom. Another tub has been seeded with trailing nasturtiums that will in time disguise an eyesore of a barbecue erected by a previous owner of the house. It really is a most hideous edifice, and impossible to move, but orange and yellow blooms should help. Have you started getting the garden into shape yet?

Well I live in what they call a "Garden Home" or "Patio Home" and all the gardening/mowing/landscaping is done for me.

I haven't started my garden yet but I can't wait lol. I'm going to do some herbs this year and a few other things. I'm determined to be successful. No excuses this year.

I always put weed killer in as I planted so I didn't have so much weeding to do.

That's a good idea to disguise the barbecue. Creepers, trailers and climbers can cover up a host of eyesores over time.
