the more educated you are about the particulars of what it is you are to discuss publicly.. the more confident you will be to speak publicly

here are few tips from me(i m a nice orator)-
1.practice hard
2.try to smile(u will be relaxed)
3.look at the people, yes dont try to escape and just think that they are there to hear u and u r so special.
4.be confident and stand relaxed
5.find some friends faces in the audience, that will boost u.
6.add some kind of light laughter(if possible in ur speech).

Try some relaxation techniques before you go out onto the stage. Take deep breaths, relax from your head down to your toes and think about relaxing each part. And make sure you've practiced well.
I just simply do presentations like I'm talking to my friends. But I don't really get too nervous about much.
Good luck!

It does get easier the more of them you do, practice makes perfect and all of that. Try to make sure you know your subject but don't worry about the actual lines, far better to stand up and just talk, knowing that you know roughly what you want to say and how long it will take to say it.

If you find out the answer let me know! I hate getting up in front of people and talking or giving speeches. I get red faced and start stammering. I hate public speaking more than anything else.

Nervous? While you won’t get rid of the butterflies, you can get them to "fly in formation" if you know and rehearse your material. It is crucial to practice your presentation out loud. Enough practice will allow you to deliver your speech without reading it word for word – with practice, you can use your text or notes simply to jog your memory. Unfortunately, when people read their speeches, most lose their audiences’ attention because they use a monotone and fail to maintain eye contact.
