Listening to Mozart's Requiem!

Mozart only lived to be 35 years old. It's amazing what he got done in such a short life. Right now I am listening to "A Joyful Noise," my Sunday sacred music radio program. They're playing Mozart's Requiem. Apparently Mozart was dying when he wrote it, and had a student finish it up for him. I actually don't know what illness killed him. A Google search will be in order later in the day. An interesting side note: I went to my keyboard to see what key the Requiem is in. I played a D. A bit too high. I played a D-flat. A bit too low! I am going to tentatively conclude that this version was played on period instruments that may have been tuned a bit lower than the A = 440 hz of today. Another Google search? I'm guessing the piece was written in D-minor. Anyway, that's what's up in my wacky little world this morning. Kittly woke me up at 5 AM, chasing imaginary mice around my apartment. I turned over and went back to sleep How is your Sunday shaping up?

It is incredible the amount of music Mozart wrote during his short life. Did you watch the movie "Amdeus"? I´m sure that you will like it.

@marguicha I enjoyed it. Now they're playing what must be Bach.

My husband didn’t get home until 3 am. He worked a rodeo party. So my house is very quiet. I waited up for him, but I woke up early. I couldn’t go back to sleep , so I got up. He will wake up soon I imagine.

@Tampa_girl7 Glad it was a good time. I'm getting too old for large parties. When I play music, I sometimes go outside and hide during breaks.

My Sunday went very quickly, I finished up writing articles to post to Vocal Media, and by the time I did that the day was heading into evening, I have never really gotten into classical music but I do love certain opera arias,

Funny. I love most kinds of classical music. But I have never been into opera.

It is really sad when extremely talented people die young.
