WatchHouse Coffee

Andre and I tried a new coffee shop this weekend called "The WatchHouse" which was said to be a purveyor of modern coffee. They are always packed. The aesthetics were great but unfortunately the coffee did not taste so great for what it was worth. Or maybe Andre and I are just used to Italian coffee. The coffee there tasted too acidic. Andre and I both agreed we will never go back there again.

I think so. But makes me realise that these days aesthetics is a really big thing. As they are always packed with young people.

@rakski Yep. Specially now that a lot of young people are earning money on socials. It is truly a different world than what it was in my teenage years.

It sounds like they worried too much about looks knowing their product was inferior. Let’s put lipstick on a pig and see if anyone notices. You noticed!

What will you do when Bubba Joe wants to date your pig?

Ahahaha. That is a very good analogy. And I can see since they are packed that some people actually like the pig with lipstick. Or at least they like to be “trendy”.

It's too bad you guys didn't like the coffee. You can always make your own coffee at home.

We actually have a nice coffee maker but sometimes we do want to have the “coffee shop” experience. But we do have good lavazza coffee at home.

@flapiz Oh, I see... I much prefer to make things at home than going out for them. Sometimes Pretty will ask me to take her to Starbucks so she can get a coffee there.

@DaddyEvil I go to Starbucks from time to time too. As I bought stocks from Starbucks. And I do love their iced caramel macchiato

That is too bad that you found a new coffee shop but it serves bad coffee, I hope you find one with good coffee,

There are a lot of independent coffee shops here in Bath. So I guess this means on to the next one.

That's a pity that it wasn't a good experience but at least you know now.

That’s the way I look at it as well. Bad experience is still good. At least we know what to avoid in the future.

Since COVID, hospitality has gone to the dogs. It’s very expensive to eat/drink out, and the quality of the service too has deteriorated. I’d expect to buy a timepiece in a place called The WatchHouse, not coffee. Or are you being spied upon?

Well some food places came back with a blast and is better than ever. Although most has taken a loss during covid and has definitely not been the same. Ahahaha well you are not wrong about the misleading name. But I find that UK has a lot of misleading names like “Office” but it sells shoes instead of office supply

@flapiz Yes! If I was opening a shoe shop, I’d call it “The Shoe Shop”. No confusion there!

It's a shame when a place doesn't live up to expectations.

@grenery8 I love coffee. But I would not say I am an expert on it. I do have my own preference.
