That Twin Thing

Yesterday we celebrated Willow and Harper's third birthday.
The girls had a fun time, they were all giggles and playful during the party. I am so happy when I see how close they are, the twin thing, really shines through with them. When it was time to open their gifts, and finding space was difficult, Harper looked at me and I asked her nieces to move so that the girls could sit together there. Harper reached out and took Willow's hand and took her over to Grandpa and put her hands on her shoulders to sit down, and she returned to me and sat with me to open her gifts. They were just far apart enough that they were not side by side, but could look directly at teach other. It was adorable.
In fact, they were so happy and giggly that they could barely eat their supper. Daddy ordered a nice chicken and rib meal from a local caterer. He was just getting home with all of the trays of food, which he kept warm until supper time. It was a very nice meal, with roasted potatoes, green beans and glazed carrots.
The girls each had their own frozen cupcake with candles, which a large ice cream cake was sliced and served.
Willow enjoyed a bit of her cupcake and her entire slice of the big cake, then she looked beyond Sissy's empty chair between her chair and mine, and she spied that I had most of my slice on my plate. I suggested that she move over and sit in Sissy's chair and she passed me her plate. She devoured the remainder of my slice. I think that she was saving space to eat the ice cream cake(s) instead of the main course.

Thank you, their actual birthday is this week.
Daddy got a call from the vet office yesterday, on a Sunday, they had an emergency and needed more space and Ellie was well enough to go home. She would have come home today anyways. They feel that they got it all, they have to change her dressing daily, and she wears a special boot. She also has medication to take, which she does not like. But at least she is back home again.

Oh they really did.
And best news of all is that Ellie is back home as of today.
They needed the space and she is doing well, and they were asked to come and pick her up.
They have to change her dressing daily and she is on pain killers as well as antibiotics and has the boot to wear, but she is home and they believe that they got it all.

Happy birthday to the twins ! Time flies ! They are 3 years old ! Why didn't you put three candles on the cake ? In the photo, they seemed very thrilled ,though they weren't old enough to know what the meaning of the birthday party was.

They are growing up to be beautiful and nicely adjusted girls, I remembered an amusing thing from my own growing up. One day while having a meal my mom noticed I was standing by my chair. She asked me why I didn't sit down, I suppose I was five then. I told her the I figured it I stood up and ate I could get more in me than if I was sitting
