What a night!

I can’t believe my evening last night. So I had a migraine (I have chronic migraines although they have been a lot better). I took a half of a migraine pill, and it went away fairly quickly. Then I got really nauseated, so I kept drinking tea because it helped in the past. Finally, and I apologize for telling you this, I “got sick”. And got sick and got sick and so on. Then as I looked up from getting sick I saw tiny black bugs flying around and started swatting them. After a ridiculous 5 seconds of doing that I realized those weren’t bugs…they were black spots in my vision. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and (shakily) laugh. That’s reverse of what migraines usually are. Normally, you get an aura - like the black spots - then comes nausea, then the migraine and getting sick. (I’ve gone decades without any auras preceding my migraines until recently) With the past three migraines I’ve been having them in reverse order: migraine, nausea, aura. It’s so weird! *I see my neurologist every 3 months.

My mom suffered from migraines like you do and I feel bad for anyone who suffers with them. When I was growing up she would sometimes spend days in bed with a migraine. I hope you feel better today

Hmm... I have migraines once in a while but have never seen auras before or after having one. I usually take a muscle relaxant (Soma), go to sleep and the migraine is gone when I wake up. I hope you're feeling better now. I'm normally back to sleep within a couple of hours of waking up for a pee break but one of the neighbors apparently got a new dog. It barks at anything/everything and sometimes howls for no apparent reason. It keeps waking me up when I start dozing off again. Since this is daytime, I can't even call the police and complain. (The neighbor is gone to work so no use trying to complain to him.) *sigh*

I hope that dog gets used to its situation soon or it’s going to drive you batty. That sounds miserable. I asked my dog if I could have Soma. He said no. It seemed ridiculous to me.

@DaddyEvil Hey, I said I asked my dog instead of doc. Of course, that’s why it never happened!

@AmbiePam Thanks... I know several other neighbors left notes on his door about the barking/howling. Hopefully, he'll figure out something to do about his dog. I'm sorry you can't use a muscle relaxant to help with the migraines but not all migraines are created equal and not all respond to the same things.

I hate those black spots masquerading as bugs... mine seem to be permanent whether I have a migraine or not. The one in my left eye is about the size of a ladybug and the rest are just like speckles on my glasses... unfortunately they don't wipe away.

I got some black floaters in my eyes after eye surgery around 8 years ago, and they annoy the heck out of me. However, none are as big as a ladybug. That sounds awful!

I hope it all left today. I wonder why the routine of it all is going backwards now? I don't think I get true migraines, but I can't stand any head pain. I see those black spots (very teeny ones), but only when I'm looking sideways.

My husband used to have severe migraines like you suffer. I am very concerned about the black spots though, and the fact that you live alone and do not have anyone present when you are so ill. When you are feeling such, do you have your Dad check in on you? It worries me that you could become unconscious and not found. I will pray for you Amber, those migraines are terrifying.

Thank you for the prayers, Julia. I appreciate that so much, I really do. There have been a couple of times I have told him during a migraine if I didn’t call him in the morning he needed to come check on me to make sure I was okay. But for the most I don’t say anything because it stresses him out so much. I told him this morning about last night, thinking since I was fine now it wouldn’t sound so bad, but it seemed to have upset him a lot.

@Juliaacv That’s a good suggestion. I did that a long time ago, but hadn’t thought to do that recently. Thank you for mentioning that.

@AmbiePam Can you confide in Naiomi when you are that ill so as not to worry your Dad?

Oh, I am so sorry you had such a bad migraine. I can definitely relate to that. And the nausea and getting past that is such a hard time, especially when your head has a hammer in it that won't stop hammering. I am glad you are better today. I am always wiped out the day after a bad migraine.

Wow, what a rough evening! ?? Migraines are already tough, but having everything happen in reverse like that sounds so disorienting. The black spots must’ve been so scary at first—glad you figured out what was going on. Hopefully, your migraines stay in check and this weird reverse thing doesn’t stick around! Sending you lots of good vibes and hopes for less stressful days ahead. ???

Wow. I'm glad you feel better this morning. I hate that sensitivity to light. Last time one of my eyes got inflamed I couldn't stand bright light. Take care.
