"The boys" let me spread my wings a bit!

In most of the bands I've been in over the past few years, I have been the "dependable guitarist" or the "dependable bass player," but I've only sung a handful of songs. In "Hair of the Dawg," the boys are allowing me to sing more songs, including ones I brought to the band. Yesterday we practiced "Hey Joe" (known as a Hendrix tune, though he did not write it) and CSNY's Wooden Ships, long a favorite of mine. We'll also be doing "Your Mind is on Vacation," a Mose Allison tune @Vandana7 and I put on YouTube a year or two ago. Of course, we practiced "The Rodeo Song," a favorite encore of ours in the various incarnations we've been in. Can you tell I am having fun with these boys? Please do send out a prayer for us. Or best wishes, or whatever. We're good, but we are a bunch of "old guys." John is recovering from hip surgery. Rod has a pacemaker. I have chronic back pain and was almost run over by a little old lady in a Safeway parking lot the other day. I may have mentioned that in another post. Oh, and Jack is having things shoved up his nether regions this morning. He drank heavily yesterday because he had to "fast" after 6 PM last night. Life is fragile. Happy Tuesday!
