30 Minutes

I have a hard time staying on task for too long so I have started the 30 minutes a day to get several large task accomplished. One of these task is outside work. When we bought our house the yard had not been taken care of in a very long time. It had lots of trash and over grown weeds. Being an extremely out of shape 45 year old it is way more than I can handle. So I have decided for the month of February to just give it 30 minutes a day. It doesn't matter how much I accomplish as long as I work on it for at least the minimum time. I know that each day will build up and I will be able to see huge progress by March 1. What project do you need to get done that you can spare 30 minutes a day on?

I need to get going on cleaning up a back room. My outside area needs stuff to happen, too, but its pretty cold right now and I am a wimp!

Thankfully I am in Texas so it is warm enough at the moment to clean outside. Good luck cleaning your back room!

@Meggan Thanks. My big excuse for not cleaning back there is the lack of heat. The main part of my house is fairly warm but not back there.

@sallypup when I'm cold I have a hard time being motivated so I understand. Maybe do 5 or 10 minute sprints

I would say it would have to be my living room. Over the past year, clutter has overtaken it. I need to follow your example.

I watched a video and it suggested to set a timer and the first time you just pick up all the trash and do that until your done. Then next step would be to make piles of items that go into other rooms by rooms and when the timer goes off you put each pile in the room (doesn't have to be put away just in the correct room. Then the next step is to put away all the items in the room you are in. Maybe that could help you.

Nothing. I am sure I know I need to do better about cleaning my house, but I'm also taking care of my husband. I need to drop what I'm doing if he has an emergency, or take the time to fight with him to keep things clean.

@Meggan I do clean, but I do it the lazy way. Our dishwasher washes most of our dishes, and I have a washer and dryer. So, for those tasks it's a lot of waiting.

That is actually a good way of getting things done. I think I can apply that to my visa processing requirements. That’s the biggest project I struggle with at the moment due to my procrastinating nature.

It's warming up and time to start getting the garden ready for planting! I like your new 30 minute plan!
