Sometimes I envy office works, because most people who work at offices doesn't need to bring their Job at home, but when you're a teacher, you bring your work at home, and it can be a little overwhelming. Just like now. I'm at home, it's 7pm, and I'm here checking test papers, and later on I'll be doing some other documents in my computer.
Wait it doesn't stop there, later I'll be replying tons of queries coming from the parents of my students, which sometimes, no often turns into a long conversation, and you have to do it simultaneously with the other parents. It makes my head spin. Anyway I got to finish this, so I will update again soon. Bye for now mylotters. I hope I'll be able to finish all of these...

@Namaco21 your comment made me chuckle. My mom , now retired, used to have 100 students in one section and there are three sections for each year. She taught three subjects. I'm not comparing it's just how it is.

@coolimrose a hundred? For real? I wouldn't last a day. I only have 15 students (my advisory class), as for the other subjects, I teach English 7-10 but the population is just 10-15 students per class. I can't imagine myself teaching 100 students. That's amazing, she's amazing.

One of the reasons I now do an office job is precisely because I wanted to go to work at a set time, do my job, come home and forget about work.
There are plenty of cons about office work but leaving work at work is definitely a pro!
Teaching is way more rewarding and interesting (it also pays better where I live) but I don't think I'd like to do it now.
I've previously worked in childcare/education in various roles so I feel qualified to make comparisons

@Namaco21 I wouldn't say tons but, as a private tutor, I always had quite a lot. Then as a nursery practitioner, I'd often have projects and plans.

@pumpkinjam I see, I asked you that because in the field of Education, it seems like the Philippines had the most paperwork that are considered unnecessary compared to other countries.

Once I graduated, my dad insisted I complete my degree in education to train as a teacher. He just wanted me to get in the school I studied in as it was so close to my house, most people were known to us and I would have instantly got the job. The pay wasn't bad either.
But I dislike kids as in I cannot control them. They will get me on a merry ride and then dump me in an alley.
Yes, there is quite a bit of paper work in this job. I have seen my mom do it and I felt I just wasn't cut out for it.
Though today, after so many years, I wonder if I made the right decision. maybe if I had just listened to my father I would have been in a stable job, financially independent. Maybe I would have enjoyed it eventually. I don't know and that makes me sad.
