I got a 25 dollar bonus for doing a survey. That is going to come in handy when it is time to pay the enormous electric bill that is going to be coming my way with all the bitterly cold weather we had in January. Somebody posted online that their bill was 484 dollars gulp!! That would be awful.Anything over 300 I would be very unhappy with.

Oh my word, that’s such an unfair amount. It shouldn’t be so expensive to keep warm.

This one is a co op and generally quite customer friendly, but energy isn't free sadly.

Oh, I'm dreading getting ours!! I'm sure ours will be right at $400 or over! But what can you do? You have to have heat in those temps we had a week ago! And congrats on your bonus survey!

@snowy22315 Same here! After getting the diesel heater installed my husband mainly holed up in the bedroom watching movies with the window unit going that has a heat strip in it. It would have been nice to turn that off for a few hours anyway during the day or hour on and hour off during the day. Oh well.

Thanks, they sent me a bill estimate which wasn't too high, but I never ran the heat as much as I did during the vortex.

Try paying for 2 dwellings like we do every winter it's anywhere from 5-600$ depending on how much power we use, hubby lives in a old 1970's M home & has (4) heaters going along with 1 stand up freezer & fridge, washer & dryer & cooks with counter top appliances. I live in the cabin where I run 2 heaters & have a 40 gal stand up water heater & stand up freezer & fridge Along with a 75 gal aquarium & 2 med size a/c's. Being we have worked on sealing the cabin up it saves a lot more to keep the place at 70 degrees all year I barely run the a/c cause I don't like the cold, so I just run the fan from it & that helps a lot too.

@snowy22315 wow what a great surprise then. $5 is less then I usually get from this company but better nothing. I usually get $10 - $15 but I’m still happy with the $5 it all adds up is is still more then other sites pay me.

That's a good news for you to have an extra doing survey. I hope you will always have a way to make your bill a little, anyway everyone was doing all they can to make all their monthly bill lesser, lol! But I hope we also have a lesser bill this month since our aircon is not working. But we need to pay for the repair this week.

Thanks, I certainly need it. I am planning on buying some furniture, and I would feel alot better about that if the electric bill isn't outlandish.

My utility bill is wrapped up in heating, electricity and water so yeah, I expect expensive. We do have solar panels that offset some of the bill but we had to pay for those a few years ago.

I hope your bill isn't too high. It's not really possible to save much on heating bills when the weather is so cold.

A power bill of that amount? That is insane. I would balk at that too, but heating with hydro is expensive.
