Hello February!

I, for one and glad that January is over with! We had that extreme arctic blast that brought single digits, the teens and snow to the deep south. Daytime temperatures that should have been night time temperatures and lots of brittle cold wind too. So, welcome on in February! And continue this warming trend into Spring. We do not mind that you let Spring in early, not at all! Mother Nature has lost her mind. She has been keeping the snow out of some areas up north and giving it to areas in the South that don't want it and are not used to dealing with lows in the single digits or low teens. Are you glad that winter is almost over? Do you want an early Spring too? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

It is sunny here today, but without clouds it is typically cold, and today is no different. I will be happy when the cold winter is finished but here it lingers well into March.

Let's hope for an early Spring. There's always a chance, and hey, the way Mother Nature has been acting, I would say we have a good chance of it happening!

I will be very happy when Spring comes since I do not want to walk out on the front of my rental home dealing with snow on the ground and the roads closed due to the icing again.

Yes, once we hit February in my area, I feel like we are over the hump so to speak. Kind of like hump day (Weds) during the week. We've had some extremely cold weather. I'll also be glad when a chance of snow in the forecast is over! Spring weather is always a welcome sight for me.

Yes, indeed! It's always iffy here. Used to be nice and comfy in March and April here, but not anymore. We actually had snow twice in April in the southern states here in U.S. just about 3, maybe 4 years ago. That was just super crazy!

@kareng Wow, that is crazy! We have been fortunate to not see snow accumulations in March for a few years now. Hope the trend continues.

I am always longing for warmer weather. The next few days will see high 60s and even low 70s. I will take that gladly. March will still be colder, of course, but once we hit April around here, spring is well on its way and it can't come soon enough.

I agree on not coming soon enough! April scares me now because we actually had SNOW here in Mississippi a couple of years ago TWICE in APRIL!! Talking about temps, we may see 80/81 by the end of the week here. But otherwise, in the 70's! I am looking forward to it!!

@porwest We are in a little warming trend and it looks like it may hold for up to 2 weeks. Highs max 79, lows min. 43 right now for next two weeks. I'm happy even though most days will be gray ones, cloudy and or raining.

@kareng We sometimes have a little April surprise. I am hoping that won't be the case this year. I am hoping to get the camper out for an April trip to dewinterize.

Arctic blast! wonder how does it like? I would love to stay somewhere where there are perpetual night or evening to experience what is it like. I stay very close to the equator, I experience either monsoon rain or dry warm spell. Sometimes both within short time span.

We usually only see snow here in my area once every 3-10 years. We had 3 snows in April which is unheard of about 3-4 years ago. Last week we had lows in the low teens and even single digits. I have never been through a single digit night in my lifetime. It was cold. and we got snow that week too.

That's because Mother Nature dumped it on us in the south where we are not supposed to get it! Really strange behavior from that lady this year. Oh wait, maybe shouldn't call her a lady.

Mother Nature is pouring on the heat where we are and flooding those on the eastern coast up around Toowoomba. The weather really has gone crazy.

@kareng Not that it's likely to matter but it's Townsville that being hit so hard. I got it wrong. They've had a lot of 'once in a hundred years' things happen lately in Queensland, and in the Eastern states generally.

My country also had that crazy trend where the South got more snow than the North. I live in the northern part and didn't see any, but I'm not complaining. Yes, I want more hours of light more than anything else, but warmer temps would also be much appreciated.

I agree with you that Mother Nature lost her mind with the strange January weather. To answer your question, no, I don't want to see spring. I want snow here and a lot of it. We're supposed to get two inches tonight. I hope so.

I do love winter. Here our spring may last 3 weeks then we are into the heat and humidity until October. So a few more days of cooler weather won't hurt my feelings at all. I don't like heat and humidity.

I don't love the humidity but I can't stand the cold and the body aches, depression and gray days. Bring on Spring and Summer!!
