My general manager was there yesterday when I arrived, I talked with her a good thirty minutes about things that had to improve. One was the promotion, another was the problem employee.
I got the promotion with everything I wanted, Yay!
As for the problem employee, I also received backed up from the assistant manager, the employee addressed immediately when the employee came in for her shift. Me and the assistant manager sat in because we deal with her the most.
It was an OMG! Moment because the general manager is so chill. She let this employee know that she doesn't run the store and that ALL managers were to be respected and just because one is not working her shift" I said don't do that" goes. Every complaint was taken care of, nothing left out.
She will always argue back, not yesterday. She listened and just said " yes ma'am." Later I seen a few tears while she was on register. After the GM left she did start talking to the rest of us, however, she understood that one more complaint and she was fired.
We all agreed she does do good work, she just has to follow the rules that everyone else has to follow.
So my mid day shift was awesome.
I really appreciate and respect a manager that listens and takes action.
So there was my awesome Saturday.

I'm glad you got everything you wanted in the promotion! And glad the problem employee was put in her place. I hope you don't have any more problems from her.

Congratulations on your promotion! It sounds like you had a productive conversation with your general manager, and it's great to hear that she took immediate action regarding the problem employee. It must have felt satisfying to see her address the issues directly and ensure that everyone is respected. It’s nice to work for a manager who listens and takes action, making for a positive work environment. Sounds like a fantastic Saturday!

I’m glad she got a talking to, and I really hope she learned her lesson and will become a model employee. (We can hope, can’t we?)
