Toast

Does anyone else love toast too? What do you have on it? I have started using peanut butter and grape jelly to get a bit of protein as since I gave up eggs, I need it. I don't eat much meat so.. I also may put a bit of cinnamon on it too with butter, real butter of course not margarine. I love the brown bread for toast with the flax seeds but I find I can't eat that too often as it wrecks my digestion. I also love melted cheese on toast..or beans on toast.

I do. I used to butter bread and sprinkle brown sugar and stick it in the oven for a few minutes. I had toast last week when I made fried eggs.

Often I will have plain toast with nothing on it. Maybe a pat of butter or peanut butter - and a little honey. I try to stay away from jams and jellies, but sometimes it's just so good. I love lemon curd and marmalade!

@RebeccasFarm They have some British shops out here (not locally, but I'll try to remember if I'm in those areas) . . . I'd love to try that black currant jam. But yah, maybe better priced on Amazon.

When I'm making spaghetti for our dinner, Pretty will put potato bread in the oven with butter, garlic and Colby cheese into the oven to go with it. Delicious!

Yes, I enjoy toast with a bit of butter. No jam. Just a bit of butter to slather on top of the toast. It tastes really good that way.

Yes I love toast. I usually ate it during breakfast with cheese, eggs or ham. Breakfast is the only time that I don't eat rice. Lunch and dinner, I ate rice with 2 or 3 dishes. But the heavy meal is during lunch.

The picture of the melted cheese on the toast looks delicious. I rarely eat toast. I really like French Toast, but that has eggs in it and you said that you gave eggs up.

Oh French Toast I really miss.. I had ordered some just egg in the carton though, so I could use that to make some. Or its called Eggs from Plants I think..it is mung bean and tastes exactly like scrambled eggs.

I love toast too. I used to eat peanut butter, but lately, I feel like I will choke if I will eat it. It's a huge effort to eat it.

I use peanut butter often. As you say, for the protein. Cottage cheese is good for protein as well. We try to stretch our eggs however we can. For me the healthiest bread is Dillons Private Selection whole wheat. I do not get the one without sugar. The one I get has 4 grams fiber per slice, but no seeds.

Dairy is a more complete source of protein than peanut butter, you can try having jam and cheese. Even if I'm not sure grape jelly makes a good pair with cheese. And peanut butter is delicious anyway. I like the classic ham and cheese, or just cheese, for sure! French toast is pretty good too, I got some calorie free maple syrup so that's in my to-do list.
