Bacon And Eggs And Else

The plan was to make sunny-side-up eggs. They're clearly scrambled, so what went wrong? Well, nothing. Today was cauliflower rice prep day and I weigh about 200 g (7 oz) of "rice" for each bag that goes in the freezer. 30 g (1 oz) was left so that went to the pan as I thought of mixing it with the eggs and bacon. So I decided to have the eggs scrambled. Can you tell there's cauliflower in that thing? I also added some gochujang paste. Overall, it tasted pretty good, not too spicy, and I was satisfied with the outcome. Plus, it was my first time cooking bacon and it went smoothly. @DaddyEvil warned me the bacon could pop with grease. The strips were definitely loud but luckily it was all bark and no bite. I don't know if cutting them short helped, I just thought it was a good idea to have smaller pieces with scrambled eggs. And that's all I had to share. I look forward having more cauli rice, I got 7 bags in the freezer. Nice number, right?

@somewitch you're on a diet? No rice?

@rakski Thanks! Yes, so little cauliflower rice for two whole eggs, but I could taste it at least.

@rakski More or less, I eat other sources of carbs such as bread. I usually have rice when I eat sushi, that can't be avoided.

It's always good to have food in the freezer.

@JudyEv Yes, and it's so convenient when everyone wants to cook their own food yet we only have one kitchen, freezing and heating up is often the way to go.

@luisadannointed I can't deny I was relieved to have an excuse to not attempt making sunny-side-up eggs, but I'll have to try someday.

Your scrambled eggs do look good! And no, I don't see the cauliflower in it. (I'll eat cauliflower but it isn't my favorite. ) I'm glad the bacon didn't pop you with grease. Pretty had 1/3 of our freezer filled with cauliflower. I MUCH prefer broccoli.

@somewitch There's a big taste difference to me. Cauliflower has a more bitter taste, in my opinion. Pretty loves mashed cauliflower and tried to convince me it tasted just like mashed potatoes... I tried a bite and laughed and told her there is something wrong with her taste buds... Strangely enough, she doesn't eat the cauliflower in the freezer. I wish she'd either eat it or throw it away. We could use the freezer room for things we like. When I suggest she eat it, she tells me she's not hungry for it.

@DaddyEvil That's reasonable, she must really crave it in order to have it. We don't even know what we have in the freezer at this point, it wasn't easy putting the cauli-rice in there, but I can't just throw stuff away as it doesn't belong to me. I doubt mashed cauliflower will ever taste like potatoes, but pretending cauliflower rice is like real rice is even harder. It might resemble overcooked rice if one is either very high or very drunk. I thought broccoli could have been tastier, I've never found the cauliflower to be bitter but then I've never had it on its own, while I've had steamed broccoli before.

@DaddyEvil I like both, I can't even tell the difference except for color.

@RasmaSandra It's one of the few veggies I really like and once I discovered the cauliflower rice thing, I've been buying it more often.

@kareng Thank you! I think I'll add tomato sauce more often to my scrambled eggs, it makes them look and taste better.

@kareng I'd love to, but they're out of season at the moment. I will definitely add fresh tomatoes next summer.

@snowy22315 A stir fry, yummy! I didn't buy any other veggies except onions so I don't know what I will make with all that "rice" this week. Well, I don't have to eat it all this week anyway. But I plan to try it with parmesan cheese once, most definitely.

@Fleura It WAS tasty! I don't know if I should add more cauliflower next time so it can be seen, but I certainly wouldn't have minded more bacon.

@andriaperry Me too, but they're quite fatty so I avoid having them daily. If I was following a keto diet I could have them more often I guess.
