Today we had Bob's evaluation for cataract surgeries. Yes, plural, both eyes. Surgeries two weeks apart.
The appointment was in Emporia. I like Emporia, it has Aldi, and Hobby Lobby and Pizza Ranch and lots of other neat stuff. Those are the places we went before we went to the appointment.
We got to the eye surgery early, the appointment was for 2:45. We had already eaten. I had gotten some things at Aldi, and ran in for some buttons at Hobby Lobby. I think we were out of the clinic by 2:45.
Anyway, Bob will have his cataract removed from his left eye on February 25, and right eye March 11.
When I checked the school e mail, I learned that counting me half our staff was out from our program. Most other para's are not allowed to help in our room with our kids, but two of those paras that are qualified were also out. Our principal was even out sick. I felt a little guilty, but not much.
When I post this, I will then go put in for leave for February 25 and March 11. It has to be done.

The kids will survive a day or two without you. They may not be happy about it but they'll survive.

Good thoughts go out to Bob. I had a cataract removed from my left eye a couple of years back now. Will have the other one done when needed. I hope I e he enjoys it as much as I did. It was like having my eye rinsed continually.

I’m just starting to get the early stages of cataracts in my eyes, according to the doctor. I have my eyes checked annually, more for the glaucoma pressure (it’s very prevalent in my family), the cataract, and general eye health than the “vision” issues. (I don’t think my prescription has changed in four years, thank God!)
I’m glad he has them scheduled, and I hope you don’t get any mischief from the sn*w monsters that’ll force you to reschedule.
