Day 17 – Faithfulness 2 Chronicles 15:1 Now the Ruwach of Elohiym came upon Azariah the son of Oded. 2 He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and everyone in Judah and Benjamin. JEHOVAH is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 3 For a long time Israel has been without the true Elohiym, without a teaching priest, and without law; 4 but when in their trouble they turned to JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them. 5 In those times there was no peace for the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on the inhabitants of the lands. 6 Thus, nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for Elohiym troubled them with every adversity. 7 However, you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work will be rewarded!” 8 When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage and removed the abominable idols throughout the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of JEHOVAH before the vestibule of JEHOVAH. 9 Then he gathered everyone in Judah and Benjamin, and those who dwelt with them from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon, for they came over to him in great numbers from Israel when they saw JEHOVAH his Elohiym was with him. 10 Thus, they gathered at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa. 11 They offered JEHOVAH at that time seven hundred bulls and seven thousand sheep from the spoil they had brought. 12 Then they entered a covenant to seek JEHOVAH Elohiym of their fathers with their entire heart and with their entire soul; 13 and whoever would not seek JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. 14 Then they took an oath before JEHOVAH with a loud voice, with shouting and trumpets and rams’ horns. 15 Everyone in Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and sought Him with their whole soul; and He was found by them, and JEHOVAH gave them rest. 16 Also, he removed Maachah, the mother of Asa the king, from being queen mother, because she had made an obscene image of Asherah; and Asa cut down her obscene image, then crushed and burned it by the Brook Kidron. 17 However, the high places were not removed from Israel. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was loyal throughout his days. 18 He also brought into the house of Elohiym the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated: silver and gold and utensils. 19 There was no war until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa. God’s names: Ruwach – Whirlwind, Violent Breath, Spirit Elohiym – Supreme God JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus God’s character: Troubler Protector How do you respond when someone praises your actions? Do you strengthen your resolve to do better because of the praise you received? Or does conceit rule your life? Asa received a word from the Ruwach of Elohiym, who praised him for his faithfulness to JEHOVAH Elohiym. In response Asa destroyed the idols and removed his mother from her position as queen mother because she worshiped an idol. He destroyed the idol and restored the silver, gold, and utensils dedicated by his father back to the house of Elohiym. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you committed yourself to follow Him faithfully in everything. Yet many Christians in positions of authority in the church, lift themselves up. They build bigger churches, boast about their actions, and promote their projects, not for Yeshuwa’s glory, though that is what they proclaim, but for their vain conceit to show the world what they accomplished. When you dedicate your life to Yeshuwa, you need to serve Him faithfully in everything He tells you to do. You are His temple. When people see your life, it should reflect Yeshuwa’s glory. Asa wanted to please JEHOVAH, and his life showed his dedication to Elohiym. Does your life reflect your obedience to Yeshuwa? Do you consider your actions before you do anything as pleasing to Yeshuwa or pleasing to you? Let’s pray: Father, let my words and actions reflect Your glory in everything I say and do. Let my praise come before Your throne and give you glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 4 February 2025 by Valerie Routhieaux The Image belongs to me.
