Have you ever made a snow man?

I liked making snow men when I lived in places where there was snow. These days, I'll only make a snow man if there's a kid around who wants to make one. I admit that I was never as clever as Calvin when it came to snow men. I am a decent musician, but not a very good (or creative) visual artist.

Yes, I remember making one when I was a kid and lived in the country. And in later years making them with my kids. It is a lot more fun with help! And kids are the best help!

@kareng They're also pretty good at loading dishwashers and helping take the garbage out if you train 'em right.

I'd probably make a blob in the snow if I tried. Thankfully, I've never lived in an area with snow.

@TheHorse Your area doesn't seem bad. I would be happy to stay above freezing at least.

@wolfgirl569 I don't think the Bay Area is that pretty, unless you go hiking, But parts of California are really nice. It's expensive to live here, though.

Despite the snowstorm that hit Lake Charles after the Martin Luther King Day holiday where I was tempted to build a snowman but I decided not to do it since it would have been dangerous for me to build one without proper clothing on my feet.

You need some neighbor kids. You could be "project director."

I remember when I was little, two of my oldest brothers came to the house after we had a huge snowstorm. Dad asked them to shovel the driveway for him. My brothers decided they'd make a snowman to clear the driveway instead of shoveling it. I don't know how big that snowman actually was but the base of it was the height of my brother. (Most of my brothers were over 6 feet tall.) They had to use two ladders to get the middle snowball on top of the bottom one and let me roll up a head for the snowman. After the snowman was done, one brother used a shovel and carved a door into the bottom of the snowman. The room inside was big enough for me to walk around in and four of us fit inside it. I made snowmen with Pretty but nothing like as big as the one when I was little.

I have very fond memories of my first snowman. There was a park my dad or mom would take me too near where we live in NYC in Brooklyn. The park is Owl's Head Park. Since in the winter darkness comes fast my dad too me to the park to build the snowman just inside the gates because we could get light from the street lamps when they came on. I was five so Dad and I started building the snowman. Darkness came and Dad decided we should finish, We did but meanwhile Mom at home thought something terrible had happened to us to still be out in the dark, We got home and Mom told Dad what she thought about our adventure, How much easier it would have been if there were mobile phones

I've seen very little snow in my life. I love Calvin and Hobbes. What a pair.

I usually make a snowman once every winter. I try to wait until one of my kids/grandkids are here...it always brings back memories of my sister and I building snowmen. Sometimes, we would make a family. They couldn't have been classed as works of art, but it was fun.

I was born and bought up in Middle East , so never had seen snow during my childhood expect while watching sesame street ir any US based programs. For a short stint I did come to US and by that time I was all grown up. I loved the snow and I touched them as they came down and did try to make a ball out of it. I wanted to try to create a snow man but was hesitant as people could be teasing me. So , nope never made a snow man till now. Not sure if that will happen in future. I do not think I will be clever in making a snow man as it needs some planning and artistic skills. Good to know your thoughts. Take care!
