Update on an Update (How about your day?)

So some of you remember the “saga” with my back and pain medication from the pain management doctor. I got a hold of them today, and the doctor WAS in, so they said they could squeeze me in this morning. I went, and got an apology, and the doctor said he’d call in my prescription as soon as my appointment was over. I felt cautiously optimistic, but it’s been hours, and he still has not called it in. I’m giving him 30 more minutes (the receptionist said to give him until the end of the day…I don’t think so), and then I’m calling to remind them again. Sometimes, when I have to remind him, he does do it right then.
So hopefully, better news soon. On the plus side, it’s been over ten days, and I’ve got a fairly good attitude about it (I think). I just don’t want to get so upset I feel worse.
*He just filled it.
What did you guys do today?

Yeah, keep calling..and are you looking for a different doc? This one is a loser. I have a call in for medicine too. I called later to follow up, and they were already closed..

@AmbiePam Good, make sure you feel them out first and see if they seem responsible and compassionate. You should be able to read the reviews for the doc you are considering online somewhere, if he/she doesn't already have it posted on their profile.

How difficult would it be to find another doctor for you? If you get disability, the disability office should be able to tell you what doctors in your area will accept your insurance. They may also be able to tell you which of those doctors are accepting new patients.

I thought the pain management that dealt with all these new therapies would help me, and I got excited. They were accepting new patients. But they said they couldn’t help my injury. However, my primary care put in a referral to someone he said just opened an office, and hopefully she’ll take me.

He apologized but it’s not fixed. It’s not my call, but if I were you, I would definitely find another doctor.

One rejected me because he didn’t think he could help me (he said my injury was too severe for how he treated his patients), and two doctors weren’t accepting new patients. I have a referral pending to one who just started up one time over. I’ve tried switching a couple times already.

The only doctors that I really accept if they are late are the ones who help with child birth. I remember that when I had back surgery, the doctor made me go to the hospital and when I was about to have surgery, he came and told me that he had another patient from a more elegant hospital. I replied that it wasn´t fair at all. The patient with money could pay an extra day at the hospital and I couldn´t. He was ashamed and I was first.![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

Such things can be annoying and very naturally we loose the calm. I am happy that it's done. Yes, reminders and follow ups can be annoying but we have to do it. Even doctors have a life and they too get overworked.
I hope that your back feels better soon.
