Finally a Sure Sign of Spring!

You all know I have been not so patiently awaiting the arrival of Spring! Today when I was outside and doing chicken chores, I noticed that the wild daffodils were starting to spring up. I had been watching for them since they usually appear in February. Mine are yellow and I'll be waiting for those pretty blooms in March or April! There is usually a big one that pops up behind our mailbox, which is across the street, but no signs of it yet. It may have been dug up with construction work with clearing the power line area. I hope not! Do you have wild daffodils growing in your area or other wild flowers? And are they starting to show signs of life again? Note: I will add the photo as soon as it gets edited. We do get wild ones but they aren’t very pretty. I see pretty ones all over growing wild that I’d love instead of the ones I have .

@shaggin I am pretty sure mine are all yellow also. But, I think I have one that did not bloom last year, so maybe I have a little hope there.

Looking at the security camera, the grass is still brown, but at least it’s now visible after two weeks of being under sn*w.

That's a start! I have a mixture here, brown and spots of green.

Those are such a welcome sight. I love this time of the year, everyone has things emerging from the ground and budding and blooming at different times.

Some years a few things will bravely appear, often to get either nipped by frost or just frozen solid. It’s only the first week of February, winter here is far from over. I try not to count on early flowers as I have been disappointed too many times in the past. But that’s ok…there will still be flowers.

Yes, anything is possible. When it snowed here twice in April, the phrase "anything is possible" really stuck with me!
