Trying to decide what I want to get. And from where. Hoovers Hatchery has a 15 chick minimum this time of year to help them stay warm but has free shipping. I have a couple of other hatcheries to search yet. I will do that after my bath. Thinking about getting a mixture of breeds. Grocery shopping went smoothly except I had to go back to the gas station. I forgot to grab the lottery tickets when I first went. I got brown eggs at the gas station for 5 dollars. As far as stores go that's a great price even for white eggs. Just mostly relaxed since I got home. Hope you had a good day.

One experimental breed I tried once was Araucana. They were really smart and I loved those feathered cheeks!

I have mixed opinions on the Cinnamon Queens I got last year. All but one is nice and sweet. This other girl is a vulture. She sees me come in the coop and there she is pecking on my foot. She's crazy. If I try and shoo her away, she will go after my hand and/or arm. However, they have taken to the nextboxes very well. That is something the black chickens did not do from the year before. They prefer laying on the ground. And then of course eggs are eaten. I can't remember what I bought then, maybe black Austrolops. I want to get more barred rocks. I like them.
