Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA. It looks like everything is going according to plan when she gets a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills, and lands a place on their competitive figure skating team. Nothing will stand in her way, not even the captain of the hockey team, Nate Hawkins. Nate's focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice. Which is tricky when a facilities mishap means they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team - including Anastasia, who clearly can't stand him. But when Anastasia's skating partner faces an uncertain future, she may have to look to Nate to take her shot. Sparks fly, but Anastasia isn't worried... because she could never like a hockey player, right? ~~~~ There is trouble between Anastasia and her skating partner, Aaron, which in turn causes trouble for Nate and his team. The relationship between Nate and Anastasia is rough at first when a vandalized ice rink forces the hockey team to share the other rink with the figure skaters. The jealousy Nate feels for Anastasia's relationship with her skating partner is the centre of all the turmoil. Aaron's jealousy for Nate is just as palpable. Behind Anastasia is her best friend and roommate, Lola, and basically the whole hockey team. The guys love her. Despite there being a lot of steam in this book, there was a real storyline here. Friendships that are promising to last forever. Unexpected love, of course. I was warned of how steamy this book was (which I don't mind, but there was alot), there was also a good story with a good plot. The highlight of the story culminating in Anastasia (and her pairs partner Aaron) competing in an International Competition with hopes of making it to the Olympics, and Nate captaining his team to a Championship before he follows his draft to the NHL. I'll leave the rest to you to read. If you can handle the explicit scenes, you will find the story enjoyable.

A good plot can help you forgive an excess of steam.

Exactly. I read another sports romance that was very short... very little plot, mostly steam.

Actually, the funniest part of the book is when Nate the hockey player, helps Anastasia practice while her partner is injured. Big hockey player figure skating. Would love to see that in a movie.
