Great Time Today

Yes, today was “boring” by “traveling” or “tourist” standards. It was terrific by my standards, though. I stopped to see my aunt and uncle.
My uncle is a clown. Really. He used to teach at the clown school in Florida. He’s also an actor, having appeared in a number of independent films and some Lifetime movies. Before the world knew he was a clown, though, the family all knew. 
I stopped by their house to see them today, bringing lunch from Sonny’s. My uncle and aunt split the St. Louis dry-rub ribs, while I enjoyed another one of their turkey sandwiches. (Turkey smoked in a smoker is unreal with flavor!)
Then we visited for a couple of hours. Both my aunt and uncle are getting over medical issues (an infection and dental problems, respectively). We swapped travel stories and photos (they went to Europe for three weeks, enjoying the Christmas villages throughout Germany), chatted about the family (the “normal one” in the family didn’t get mentioned 
), and just enjoyed being family!
Boring? You bet. But that’s the best thing about family: every time we get together it’s a GREAT “boring” time.

Yes, we have one “normal” person in the family…and we all sit away from that person during reunions. 
(They know who they are, too, which is the sad part.)

It sounds like you had a great time with your aunt and uncle. Family is important, and I am sure you more than made their day with the food and the great time you had with them.

He was the bad guy in Sandpaper, the judge in the Lifetime movie You Can’t Take My Daughter, and the mob boss in The Book: False Prophet.
And he did THIS during COVID.

Thanks. They’re getting better, just have to let all the meds and the healing process work. That’s the hard part. (My neighbor across the street broke her hip in the snow last month, and she’s doing fine but “going crazy” because she can’t do anything while it heals up!)

I totally understand about going crazy waiting to heal. When I had a bone bruise on my hip two years ago, I could hardly walk because it hurt so bad. I had to use crutches for the first couple of months... Fun, fun!
