Cold Friday

We have wind coming out of the north. So it's a very cold wind. I will go out this afternoon to make sure the chickens have water. And then put them up this evening. Except for that I am staying inside where it's warm. If I order chicks it will be from Hoovers Hatchery I think. They seem to give the best mixtures. But I will see what Rural King has in before I do that. If they have a lot in I will get some there. Not much to do today. Hope you have a good day.

I'm thinking about getting chickens but I'm afraid all the wild animals will kill them.

I don't let mine free range anymore. I've had coyotes carry one off and also try to get into the coop on multiple times day or night!!

I keep mine fenced in. If you have any type of weasels in your area you need an extremely sturdy coop for night too. I built a cage in the shed with hardware cloth for that.

Nothing going on here. I washed the dishes and cleaned the bathroom sink and toilet. I've just been reading a new book while waiting on my brother. He picked up my prescriptions this morning and is going to drop them off sometime before noon. Then I can go to bed. Hope you don't freeze completely over and have fun today.

We had 5 chickens as pet named Alfa, Beta, Gamma, Teeta and Omega. Only Gamma lived for 12 years.

We had a brutally cold wind yesterday here too. I tried to go out for a walk but that wind was so cold, and there is so much ice on the sidewalks, that I turned around and came back inside.

Our ice is gone right now. But still no fun to be outside

I stayed at home last Friday but had to go out today and wind was very cold too over here, my hands got so red and dry but I find gloves to be as uncomfortable.

Our weather is all right for now. Already in the 70s but down to 60 at night, I hope you have a good start to the weekend,

I'm guessing you already have a pen for them. Are the guinea fowl still penned or do you let them out in the daytime?

I keep everyone fenced in. I will have to add to the area in the shed when new ones would be old enough to go out. But that wouldn't take long
